Job Description
Global is seeking a highly experienced Principal, Enterprise Business Process Design to serve as a senior leader for cross-functional business process design within the organization's highest-priority transformation initiatives. This role partners closely with senior leaders, transformation program owners, project and business teams and the Principal Process Strategist – Enterprise Applications to ensure that critical process work translates directly into measurable business value.
The fundamental purpose of this role is to ensure Global captures real, near-term business value from disciplined process design — while simultaneously establishing the sustainable, repeatable frameworks needed to scale that value delivery across transformation work over time. This role embeds within key transformation and business initiatives, applying senior expertise to redesign complex, cross-functional processes in ways that improve user experience, eliminate waste, and accelerate value realization.
This role leverages modern technology to multiply impact — including AI-enabled process design and analysis tools, process automation platforms, process mining capabilities, and contemporary modeling and documentation tools — bringing these capabilities to bear in ways that accelerate discovery, sharpen analysis, reduce manual effort, and shorten time-to-value.
This is a value-first role with framework discipline. The Principal, Enterprise Business Process Design brings hands-on expertise to the work that matters most, develops repeatable methods through that work, and contributes lightweight standards and reusable assets that enable consistency and scale without slowing momentum.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, natural leader, and recognized process design expert who combines deep methodology fluency with strong business acumen, technology fluency, and rigorous execution discipline. They have a proven track record of redesigning complex, cross-functional processes in ways that simultaneously improve the user experience, maximize operational performance, and embed sustainable ways of working. They are credible with senior leaders and team members alike, lead confidently across complex organizational dynamics, and drive outcomes through deep expertise, sound judgment, and the trust they build with stakeholders at every level.
At Global Partners, business starts with people. Since 1933, we’ve believed in taking care of our customers, our guests, our communities, and each other—and that belief continues to guide us.

We show up every day with grit, passion, and purpose—anticipating needs, building lasting relationships, and creating shared value.
- 1. Cross-Functional Process Design within Key Strategic Initiatives
- Lead the design of complex, cross-functional business processes within Global's highest-priority transformation and strategic initiatives, accountable for ensuring critical process work translates into measurable business outcomes
- Embed within key transformation and business programs as the senior process design lead — working alongside program managers, business owners, technology leaders and team members to deliver measurable outcomes
- Lead current- and future-state design for the most complex, highest-value processes within transformation scope, including decision logic, handoffs, controls, and cross-system dependencies
- Personally lead early-stage discovery, value stream definition, and critical process redesign efforts, applying proven techniques and tools to identify and quantify value opportunities early
- Apply disciplined judgment to focus effort on the highest-value, most critical process opportunities — not on exhaustive enterprise documentation
- Partner closely with the Principal Process Strategist – Enterprise Applications to ensure cross-functional process design is aligned with application-enabled process work
- 2. Cross-Functional Process Design & Value Delivery
- Identify and quantify high value opportunities within complex, cross-functional processes; prioritize based on business impact, feasibility, and strategic alignment
- Design future-state processes that are pragmatic, scalable, and outcome-oriented — balancing business intent, system capability, compliance requirements, and enterprise architecture alignment
- Lead and support the execution of process improvements through implementation, ensuring delivery of measurable results
- Translate strategic objectives into clear, prioritized process and value stream agendas with defined outcomes, KPIs, and success measures tied directly to business performance
- Define success metrics and track impact to ensure value realization across redesigned processes
- 3. Technology, AI, and Automation in Process Work
- Leverage AI-enabled process design, analysis, and documentation tools to accelerate discovery, redesign, and ongoing performance measurement — reducing manual effort and shortening time-to-value
- Identify, design, and embed automation opportunities within redesigned processes — eliminating non-value-added steps, reducing manual effort, and increasing operational scalability
- Apply process mining and analytics capabilities to surface current-state realities, validate redesign hypotheses, and measure post-implementation performance
- Bring fluency with enterprise-grade process modeling techniques (BPMN, value stream mapping, SIPOC, RACI) and tools (Visio, Lucidchart, Signavio, ARIS, or equivalent)
- Stay current with evolving process technology, AI tooling, and automation capabilities, and bring those innovations to bear on Global's transformation work and strategic business priorities
- Ensure technology use aligns with enterprise data governance, security, and architectural standards
- 4. Frameworks, Standards & Enablement
- Develop and maintain a lightweight set of playbooks, templates, design principles, and accelerators that enable repeatable execution and scale the impact of process work over time
- Contribute to enterprise process standards and design conventions in partnership with the Senior Director, Strategic Planning & Change, evolving them based on what works in the field
- Use early hands-on work to develop repeatable methods that can be applied across the organization
- Build and maintain institutional knowledge that captures process designs, decisions, and integration logic, ensuring hard-won understanding doesn't leave Global with people or platform changes
- Ensure documentation standards support traceability, audit readiness, and ongoing process sustainability
- 5. Documentation, Adoption & Continuous Improvement
- Develop structured, enterprise-aligned process documentation including process diagrams, RACI models, control points, integration touchpoints, and dependencies
- Translate documentation into practical enablement tools including training materials, job aids, reference guides, operational playbooks that drive adoption and protect the value of redesigned processes
- Mentor and provide subject matter guidance to process analysts, project teams, and business stakeholders engaged in transformation work
- Partner with business leaders, PMO, IT, and change teams to monitor adoption of redesigned processes and the realized value they deliver
- Assess process performance data, user feedback, and operational metrics to identify gaps, unintended consequences, and opportunities for additional value
- Refine designs, documentation, and enablement tools based on real-world usage, closing the loop between design intent and operational reality
- Escalate systemic risks, architectural conflicts, or integration issues that put process performance or value realization at risk
- 6. Enterprise Collaboration & Expert Impact
- Serve as a trusted advisor expert to business and technology stakeholders on cross-functional process strategy and execution
- Inform enterprise process portfolio prioritization through value-focused analysis of transformation opportunities
- Collaborate closely with Technology, Product, Data & Insights, Finance, HR, and Business Unit leaders to ensure alignment between process design and enterprise objectives
- Drive decision-making through expertise, credibility, and data-backed insights, earning trust as an authoritative voice on cross-functional process strategy
- Represent cross-functional process considerations in enterprise transformation and governance forums
Additional Job Description:
- Sharp critical thinker — breaks down complex, ambiguous problems, identifies root causes, and develops practical, creative solutions; applies strong judgment to prioritize, decide, and lead work forward through complexity and uncertainty
- Strong business and financial acumen — understands enterprise priorities and connects process design to strategic and financial outcomes; evaluates trade-offs between user efficiency, system capability, and total cost of ownership
- Technology-forward — fluent with modern process design tools, AI-enabled analysis and documentation capabilities, automation platforms, and process mining technologies; brings these tools to bear to accelerate value realization and reduce time-to-impact
- Natural enterprise leader — builds trust and credibility across all levels, including executive and senior leadership; aligns stakeholders, navigates organizational complexity, and drives outcomes through deep expertise, sound judgment, and earned authority
- Outstanding communicator and facilitator — synthesizes complex, cross-functional information into clear, structured, executive-ready insights; leads working sessions and decision-making forums with confidence
