Job Description

Fayetteville Public Works Commission is seeking a collaborative and solutions-focused Business Process Architect to help improve the way technology, processes, and people work together across the organization.

This role evaluates new technology solutions and evolving business needs, develops requirements for technology implementations, and designs end-to-end processes that improve operational efficiency. The Business Process Architect partners across departments, IT, and leadership to translate business needs into practical, scalable processes and support successful technology implementations, enhancements, and releases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and define end-to-end business processes across departments.
  • Evaluate new technologies and business enhancements to identify process impacts and opportunities.
  • Gather, develop, and document business and system requirements for technology implementations.
  • Design processes that support operational efficiency, business strategy, and scalability.
  • Develop process governance frameworks, standards, and documentation.
  • Partner with IT, business teams, and leadership on enterprise system implementations and integrations.
  • Coordinate knowledge transfer to business users during system implementations, enhancements, and releases.
  • Lead or support business process transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support change management efforts associated with new systems, processes, and ways of working.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Business Analysis, Process Management, Information Technology, or a related field and 7+ years of experience in business process analysis or a related field.

Certification Requirements

Candidates must possess at least one of the following certifications at the time of hire or obtain one within six (6) months of hire:

  • Business Process Management Certification
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification
