Data Systems Analysts, Inc. (DSA) is seeking a Business Process Engineer/Business Analyst to support Army programs at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG). This role sits at the intersection of business analysis, process re‑engineering, and customer engagement, supporting mission partners by translating operational needs into clearly defined, well‑documented processes.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in complex DoD environments, understands how enterprise systems and development teams operate, and excels at producing high‑quality process documentation that supports both technical implementation and audit‑ready requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience as a Business Analyst, Business Process Engineer, or hybrid BA/BPE in a complex organization.
  • Demonstrated experience with:
    • Requirements gathering and analysis
    • Business process documentation and re‑engineering
  • Strong ability to produce detailed, structured process documentation suitable for development teams and formal reviews.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Visio for process mapping and diagramming.
  • Experience supporting or working within DoD environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with government stakeholders.

Clearance Required

  • Active or Current DoD Secret clearance.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Army organizations (preferred over general DoD).
  • Familiarity with agile development practices and working with technical delivery teams.
  • Exposure to enterprise systems (ServiceNow, Power Platform, custom applications, or similar).
  • Prior experience supporting compliance‑driven or audit‑ready documentation efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and lead business analysis and business process engineering efforts across Army organizations.
  • Elicit, analyze, and document functional and process requirements from government stakeholders.
  • Lead or support business process re‑engineering (BPR) initiatives to improve efficiency, clarity, and system alignment.
  • Develop detailed process documentation, including:
    • Swim‑lane diagrams
    • End‑to‑end process flows
    • BPMN‑style and audit‑ready artifacts
  • Create and maintain process diagrams and documentation using Microsoft Visio and related tools.
  • Act as a primary customer interface for process‑focused work, while also supporting discussions led by senior team members.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure requirements and processes are clearly understood and implementable.
  • Support project execution by understanding schedules, dependencies, risks, and delivery constraints (without acting as a project manager).
  • Operate effectively within agile development environments, supporting iterative delivery and refinement.
