Job Description

What we do

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide protection and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We take action in response to emergencies and, at the same time, promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We work closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation in order to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. We direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations.

Purpose

The Business Transformation Team (BTT) of Global Shared Services HR Shared Services drives innovation in business projects and solutions and effectively oversee new processes, improvements, and transformations.

Within the BTT, the GSS HRSS Business Process Analyst (BPA) evaluates requirements and conducts risk & benefits analysis on business processes. They are responsible for planning, overseeing, and leading projects or initiatives about policies and procedures from ideation to completion. They support the GSS HRSS management in ensuring that the HR processes are mapped in a consistent and comprehensive manner, and in streamlining them constantly to ensure the efficiency of the services delivered.

Accountabilities & functional responsibilities

Process management

  • Ensures overall management of processes, their consistency, and the efficiency
  • Identifies as-is and to-be scenario and perform gap analysis
  • Maps and deploys HR business processes
  • Reviews templates prior their approval by Framework, Risk & Assurance (FRA)
  • Ensures solutions meet business requirements and quality standards by collaborating with Process owners, Quality Assurance Officer, and other stakeholders
  • Leads ongoing reviews of business processes and develop optimization strategies

Project management

  • Coordinates with line manager and project manager to define project’s scope and goals
  • Understands the tool and its functionalities in order to design the to-be processes with the stakeholders concerned
  • Coordinates with project staff and ensures completion of project deliverables in a thorough and timely manner
  • Plans and schedules project timelines and carry out risk assessment
  • Assesses and understands stakeholders’ constraints and appetite for change and creates communication plan to commonly build solutions
  • Manages change with the Change Officer by emphasizing need to change and how to address it, documenting to-be processes, conducting trainings, and monitoring progress
  • Provides post-go live support to make the change stick

Additional Duties

  • Follows up on all work-related messages and correspondence with the relevant contacts and departments
  • Takes responsibility for their own professional learning and development
  • Participate in projects, as necessary
  • If necessary and upon request, provide ad hoc administrative tasks for the unit or department
  • Being proactive with continuous improvement propositions for the team’s management processes
