What we do

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide protection and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We take action in response to emergencies and, at the same time, promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We work closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation in order to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. We direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations.

Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Business Process Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for mapping and analysing accounting business processes to identify areas for improvement. The Business Process Analyst will collaborate closely with the Business Process Owners (BPOs) and key stakeholders to identify areas for process improvement utilizing operational excellence methodologies, such as Business Analysis, Digital Transformation, Lean, and Six Sigma. He/she will also support the BPOs in identifying and understanding the needs of key stakeholders and end users and provide support in defining the business requirements. The Business Process Analyst will also be responsible to translate the business requirements into functional specification, and to ensure that they will be addressed by the IT solution that is being developed. Additionally, he/she will develop and maintain comprehensive business process documentation and training material and play a key role in planning the User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Within a Lean/ Six Sigma/ Agile project methodology framework, the Business analyst helps the finance community translate the need for change into process and organization model i.e. delivering consistent, standardized business solutions across the FSS organization.

Accountabilities & functional responsibilities

Process Mapping and Documentation:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive business process documentation, including process maps, workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), user guides, training material and manuals upon request and as needed.
  • Collaborate with BPO, SME, and R&A in maintaining currency of the process maps and control points.
  • Collaborate with Orbus team to implement Orbus architecture and standardize process maps within the FSS.

Business Process Analysis:

  • Organize and facilitate workshops with project team, including requirements and needs elicitation, process walkthrough, process analysis, and identification of potential solutions.
  • Collaborate with the BPOs and key stakeholders to gather, define, and document detailed business requirements and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Map the current state (As-Is) process map after process walkthrough and the future state (To-Be) process map after the finalization of solutions proposal.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications, epics, stories, and features.
  • Collaborate with transversal teams to ensure that business requirements are accurately translated into technical solutions.
  • Develop test plans, scenarios, scripts, and other documentation to support the development of the solution.
  • Provide ongoing support and assistance to end-users following project implementation.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, including test case creation, execution, and issue management.
  • As needed, conduct trainings about process mapping and documentation and business analysis.

Process Improvement:

  • Lead the analysis of business processes to identify areas of improvements.
  • Support the PTCI Team Lead in managing process simplification review (PSR) projects including but not limited to creating project charter and project timeline, organizing kickoff meeting, and presenting solutions to stakeholders for alignment.
  • Act as a liaison between the requester (FAD, FSS) and the solution developer (Data BI, T&I) to ensure the solutions are designed and implemented in line with the business requirements.
  • Continuously improve the process simplification by introducing best practices in agile project, business analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Additional Responsibilities

FAD HQ project support:

  • Deliver activities based on agreed and specified workload in support of the business analysis activities of FAD HQ projects in compliance with SLA and SoW requirements.
  • Project support may include but not limited to the following activities such as preparing process map and document, creating training materials, conducting or facilitating training of users, conducting surveys and gathering feedback, and facilitating user acceptance testing (UAT).

Selection Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience of minimum 3 years as a Business Analyst, Business Process Analyst or similar role.
  • Strong understanding and experience in business process modelling (BPMN 2.0), requirements gathering techniques, root cause analysis, and project management.
  • Solid knowledge of project management methodologies such as Agile, waterfall, and Design Thinking.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, forward thinking and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities autonomously or in collaboration with others.
  • Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (e.g. BABOK, CBAP, CCBA) certification an asset.
  • Experience and certification in Lean or Lean Six Sigma an asset.
  • Certification in agile project management (e.g. PMI, SAFe) an asset.
  • Experience with Service Now (SNOW) an asset.
  • Knowledge in digital solutions such as Excel Macro and Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) an asset.
  • Experience in shared services an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
