Business Planning Manager – Job Description
The Business Planning Manager is responsible for end-to-end planning and execution across a complex, multi-site manufacturing supply chain. This role integrates supply planning, and operational execution to ensure alignment with business objectives, including customer satisfaction, revenue targets, production efficiency, and inventory optimization.
The position serves as a primary interface between internal stakeholders and external partners, including wafer foundries, component suppliers, subcontract assembly and test providers, and logistics/warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Business & Supply Planning
  • Lead planning team for assigned product families (including multi-die and complex configurations) across the full product lifecycle
  • Translate demand signals into executable supply plans balancing capacity, cost, and service levels
  • Drive alignment between demand forecasts, supply plans, and financial targets
  • Monitor and optimize inventory levels to meet service objectives while minimizing excess and obsolescence
2. Production & Operations Planning
  • Analyze outputs from advanced planning systems (Kinaxis) and drive actionable insights
  • Develop and manage wafer starts, assembly builds, and test plans
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure smooth production flow
  • Participate in wafer procurement decisions and long-range capacity planning
3. Customer Fulfillment & Service Excellence
  • Partner with customer service and commercial teams to ensure on-time delivery and high service levels
  • Resolve supply-demand gaps and manage escalations with clear prioritization
  • Balance customer commitments with operational constraints and business goals
4. Cross-Functional Leadership & Alignment
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales, finance, procurement, and operations teams
  • Drive S&OP / Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes for assigned product lines
  • Influence stakeholders to align on priorities, trade-offs, and execution strategies
5. Continuous Improvement
  • Identify and implement process improvements across planning, forecasting, and execution
  • Enhance utilization of planning systems, tools, and automation
  • Lead initiatives to improve supply chain agility, responsiveness, and scalability
6. Success Metrics
  • On-time delivery performance (OTD)
  • Inventory turns and working capital efficiency
  • Cycle time reduction and throughput improvements
  • Supplier performance and capacity alignment
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • 5-10+ years of experience in supply chain planning, operations, or semiconductor manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of outsourced manufacturing models (foundry, OSAT, supplier ecosystems)
  • Experience with advanced planning systems (Kinaxis), ERP (e.g., SAP), and data analytics
  • Proven ability to manage complex product portfolios and multi-site supply chains
