Within the Ministry, the Court and Justice Services (CJS) Division delivers court operations, administration, and resolution services to Albertans, engaging with diverse stakeholders to provide effective and timely resolution of legal matters.
The Business and Resolution Services Branch plays a strategic role by leading business planning, reporting, and operational support for the Division. By fostering collaboration and innovation, Business and Resolution Services ensures that Alberta’s justice system remains responsive, efficient, and future-focused.
Do you thrive on analyzing complex information and supporting effective and efficient processes for internal stakeholders? As a Business Planning Analyst, you will play a central role in aligning divisional initiatives with ministry objectives. This position requires critical thinking, adaptability, and a solutions-focused approach to overcome challenges in planning and reporting. Working closely with leadership and internal stakeholders across the division and Ministry, you will ensure that strategic priorities are met, and continuous improvement is achieved.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following competencies:
Required: University graduation in a related field, plus 2 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.
Related education can be in fields that provide a strong foundation in research, analysis, and organizational planning. Preferred areas include Public Administration, Political Science, Business, Economics, Law, Public Policy, and Social Sciences. Other acceptable disciplines may include Management or similar programs that emphasize strategic thinking and problem-solving.
Related experience can include roles where you have contributed to planning, reporting, research, and strategic analysis within complex organizations. Examples of relevant positions include Project Coordinator, Program Analyst, Planning Analyst, Strategic Planning Advisor, Business Coordinator, Business Administrator, etc. Experience should involve coordinating business or operational planning processes, preparing reports and briefing materials for senior leadership, conducting environmental scans or data analysis, and managing multiple projects, often under tight timelines.

Hours of Work: One permanent, full-time role with the standard weekly work hours of 36.25, Monday to Friday.
