
Job Purpose
An exciting opportunity for a Health, Safety, Security & Environment expert to join our growing team!
This role will be responsible for supporting the execution of the business’s HSSE standards across logistics operations including warehousing, hardstand operations, heavy vehicle transport, and rail operations. This role partners closely with site operational teams and leaders to embed a proactive safety culture, maintain compliance with regulatory and customer HSSEQ requirements, and drive continuous improvement in health, safety, security, and environmental performance.
Key Accountabilities
Support the implementation of HSSE policies, procedures, and standards in line with corporate requirements and ISO certifications
Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and compliance audits to ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and company HSSEQ requirements
Assist in preparing and maintaining documentation for internal and external HSSE audits and certification processes
Collaborate with site managers to close out corrective actions and ensure timely resolution of non-conformances. Work with contracted partners on completion of compliance and assurance activities
Promote a proactive safety culture by partnering with site leadership and frontline employees
Participate in the development, planning, and implementation of HSSE improvement initiatives and programs
Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and awareness campaigns to improve engagement and communication
Provide coaching and mentoring to operational leaders on HSSE best practices
Support incident reporting, investigation, and root cause analysis to ensure lessons learned are implemented
Assist with regulatory notifications and maintain incident registers in accordance with legislative and corporate requirements
Collect, analyse, and report HSSE data to support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements
Support communication of HSSE performance and key learnings across sites
Contribute to regulatory and corporate environmental reporting
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will possess the following:
Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related discipline
ICAM training (desirable)
Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar HSSE role within logistics, warehousing, or transport sectors
Sound knowledge of WHS, environmental, and transport safety legislation (including Chain of Responsibility)
Experience supporting or maintaining ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 28000 systems (desirable)
Knowledge of Rail Safety Act (desirable)
Knowledge of Dangerous Goods Acts & Regs (desirable)
Collaborative and approachable, with strong stakeholder engagement skills

Proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement focus
