Job Description

Business Partner

Ambitious economist with 3–5 years of experience and an analytical mindset, who thrives as a business sparring partner for management.

Key responsibilities
• Planning cycle
• Management reporting
• Month end reporting
• Business case analysis

Story House Egmont is on an exciting journey where the goal is to grow in the coming years, both organically and through further acquisitions. We continuously work to optimize and develop our business, which consists of a wide range of market leading magazines and digital products.

About the job
Referencing to the Head of FP&A and working closely with the Director of Consumer Magazines, you will have a broad role as a sparring partner for a double-digit number of managers, working closely with them on budgeting, forecasting, month end, business analysis, business cases, and various ad hoc projects across the organization. Critical to your success is your ability to challenge managers, "stress-test" ideas, and build and maintain relationships in an informal and straightforward manner. In other words, you master stakeholder management.

You will establish a close working relationship with the Danish Finance Manager and the Finance team. You will ensure valid analyses, numbers, and presentations, providing an optimal management and decision-making foundation for decision-makers in their daily operations. You will be involved in the monthly closing process and contribute input to reporting, as well as ensure effective variance explanations regarding budget deviations, adjustments, etc., to the business. You must succeed in becoming a trusted business partner who is both well-liked and respected by those around you.

Who are you?
You hold a higher economic or financial degree at the Master’s level, alongside a few years of experience with business analysis, budgeting, business cases, and ad hoc projects from a medium-sized or large dynamic enterprise. This position is likely your second or third job after graduation, and you currently work as a Business Controller, Business Partner, or Business Analyst. Alternatively, you may be an Executive Assistant acting as the right hand to an executive team/management. You are therefore strong in business sparring, numbers, data processing, and IT, and you possess the capability to translate strategic, tactical, and operational information into actionable directions. You are fluent in written and spoken English and are, naturally, a power user of Excel as well as an intrepid user of AI and can demonstrate how you have incorporated AI into your working life. Knowledge and experience of Business Central, Power BI and Bizview are advantageous.

A structured and solution-oriented approach to work, combined with being curious, outgoing, and approachable, are essential prerequisites for this role. You possess a strong overview and understand the importance of keeping full attention on details, even when things move very fast. You possess great drive and have a hands-on approach to problem-solving. You have a strong level of abstraction, are self-driven, and are capable of independently defining your tasks, while naturally taking ownership and meeting people at eye level.

You will play a central role with a significant impact on the business, offering you the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally. You have ambitions to develop further in an investment-oriented company with a long-term focus, backed by a charitable foundation. The position is located at Story House Egmont’s head office in Copenhagen. Employment terms are negotiated at a competitive level.

You'll work from our modern Copenhagen office (Østerbro) in a creative and collaborative atmosphere. About Egmont

Egmont is a leading Nordic media group with a dual purpose. Every day we bring stories to life through TV, movies, games, books, magazines, and beyond just like we empower children and youth at risk to pursue a good life.

We are constantly looking for new ways to share stories that matter to people and society. From the lighthearted to the deep, from paper to screens, from 24/7 news to Oscar winners. Across our more than 50 companies and brands we enlighten, entertain, inspire, educate and push for change.

As an enterprise foundation, we donate around 100 million DKK a year to support children and youth in completing an education and pursuing a good life.
