About This Role

Carrier is hiring a Business Opportunity Coach to help maximize the value of innovations in the Carrier i3 Labs incubator. You will work with innovators and key business stakeholders to develop compelling business cases supporting strategic innovations for Carrier.

Key Responsibilities:

• Model a safe, inclusive, and open culture where stakeholders with diverse perspectives collaborate across organizational boundaries to deliver robust outcomes
• Shepherd innovation teams through ideation, prototyping, testing, and delivery of customer validated concepts with compelling business cases
• Perform market scanning and competitive analysis
• Coach innovators in market analysis, business modeling, and business case development
• Engage with business unit leaders and strategy managers across the organization to understand business case and opportunity shaping practices
• Identify opportunities to enhance Carrier’s offerings through new business models
• Support and promote i3 Labs activity and opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

• BS/BA degree
• 8+ years of experience in developing business cases in a startup, university and/or corporate environment
• Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in in Finance, Business or Marketing
• Business awareness and preferably start-up experience.
• Hands-on business experiences such as strategy development, financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, pitching, coaching, training
• Comfortable working with engineers and technologists
• Experience working in a complex matrixed environment, achieving results through influence rather than formal lines of responsibility
• Experience bringing concepts from initiation to implementation… and experience being derailed on that journey
• Facilitating meetings and workshops with highly passionate participants as well as reluctant /shy contributors
• Strong hands-on knowledge of business analysis and business case development
• Comfort with project management techniques, preferably Agile
• Inspirational team-player with the curiosity and confidence to both learn and teach
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and professional presence
• Highly flexible thinking style that embraces ambiguity and can guide others towards clarity
• Intellectually curious with a desire to understand the bigger picture
