We are seeking a Business Operations Manager to join our AFL Connectivity team at our Dallas Business Center in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area. The Business Operations Manager drives cross-functional operational execution and process governance across AFL's commercial organization. This role serves as a central coordination point across functions — facilitating alignment, enabling escalation, and ensuring Business Operations-owned processes are well-governed and continuously improving. The Manager reports to the Director, Business Operations and directly leads the Business Operations Analyst. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a demonstrated track record of driving operational improvements, building scalable processes, and delivering measurable results in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities:

Cross-Functional Execution

  • Serve as a central coordination point across Product Line Management, Sales, Legal, Finance, Engineering, and Manufacturing to ensure operational alignment, issue resolution, and executional excellence.
  • Facilitate cross-functional governance cadences, distribute decision summaries, and escalate unresolved issues with a recommended path forward.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of commercial operations processes and workflows that enable front- and mid-office execution.
  • Govern Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) and cancellation processes — including review, approval, and continuous improvement of associated decision-making standards — to ensure consistent and compliant resolution.

Process & Systems Ownership

Own the documentation, standardization, and continuous improvement of operational processes, maintaining a master process library and conducting regular audits to identify gaps.

  • Partner on enabling systems to ensure they support process requirements and business agility.
  • Support governance and compliance across commercial operations ensuring processes, documentation, and audit requirements are maintained and met.

Scalability & Change Management

  • Build and maintain standardized, scalable operational processes — including documentation, training, and continuous improvement programs.

Team Leadership

  • Directly manage and develop a team of analyst(s) supporting Business Operations operational execution and commercial enablement providing coaching, feedback, and career development support.
  • Delegate effectively, set clear priorities, and create an environment where the team can do their best work.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in business operations, commercial operations, or a related field.
  • Experience facilitating governance cadences, tracking action items, and driving cross-functional alignment.
  • Strong project management skills — ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Optical networking or telecommunications product/industry/technical acumen
  • Familiarity with IBP, S&OP, or demand planning processes
  • Exposure to process automation or CPQ platforms

Personal Qualities:

  • Demonstrates executional rigor by following through on commitments and holding others accountable.
  • Builds trust and alignment across functions through influence without authority.
  • Applies structured thinking to organize complexity into clear frameworks and actionable plans.
  • Communicates clearly, concisely, and directly with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Drives measurable results by translating process and operational improvements into trackable KPI outcomes and holding themselves accountable to progress
