Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Business Operations Manager (Level K) to join our Supply Chain Business Operations Rate Studies and Rate Readiness team in Everett, Washington.

BCA Supply Chain Business Operations is a fast paced, dynamic organization that requires a larger look at the total BCA business as we support all commercial airplanes programs.

This position manages a team of Business Operations specialists who partner with Supply Chain procurement categories to drive rate readiness activities and execute production rate studies supporting all BCA airplane programs. Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.

A strong candidate will have knowledge in our BCA production systems and processes, excellent written and verbal communication, analytical skills, the ability to work in a face paced environment, resilience and to work with executive leadership. Supply Chain knowledge is preferable but not required. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

Ensures work statement compliance. Ensures consistent management system processes and tools are used. Manages, develops and motivates employees.

  • Knowledgeable of how the business and organization operates; knowledgeable of policies, practices, trends, and information affecting the business and organization; understands the competition and the marketplace.
  • Understands how to accomplish tasks through formal channels and informal network; understands the cultures of organizations.
  • Applies this information in a way that contributes to the organizations strategic plan and bottom line.
  • Initiates process improvements that are enabled and supported by technology.
  • Understands that technology and process functionality has an interconnected relationship and that each helps transform the other.
  • Develops and incorporates an understanding of the competitive global business environment as well as an awareness of economic, social, and political trends that impact the organization's global strategy
  • The ability to achieve desired outcomes on projects, on-time and within budget.
  • Ability to define the project, design and plan the project, and manage the project team.
  • Ability to control and deliver project deliverables, project accounting and appraisal, and optimize the contribution of the people involved.
  • Ability to understand the big picture and the inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area.
  • This includes the ability to see and understand the inter-relationships between components of systems and plans, anticipate future events, and apply the principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • This manager position requires you to have a minimum of one year of leadership experience (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • 5+ years of experience in project or program management
  • 5+ years of experience with Program Management Best Practices (PMBP)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Experience in supply chain management
  • Experience in communicating and presenting to all levels of management
