About the role:

Join BioNTech as we establish a cutting-edge mRNA research and manufacturing facility in Melbourne, Australia. As an Administration Manager, you will play a vital role in setting up and managing BioNTech’s offices at La Trobe University in Bundoora and the Innovation Centre in Melbourne’s CBD. Your contributions will directly support our mission to strengthen Australia’s mRNA ecosystem and advance innovative vaccine solutions for clinical trials.

In this dynamic environment, you will oversee daily operations, ensuring a functional, safe, and engaging workplace for employees and visitors. Working closely with global teams and local stakeholders, you’ll help align our Australian business practices with BioNTech’s corporate standards while championing a positive office culture.

Your contribution:

  • Manage the setup of BioNTech's new R&D and cGMP manufacturing facilities at La Trobe University, including coordinating employee move-in after construction.
  • Oversee daily operations at both the Bundoora facility and Melbourne Innovation Centre, ensuring optimal functionality of workstations, conference rooms, and communal areas.
  • Establish and manage relationships with third-party service providers for cleaning, catering, supplies, and other office needs while maintaining budgetary control.
  • Ensure workplace compliance with safety, health environment (SHE) standards, including emergency preparedness measures such as safety drills and equipment servicing.
  • Develop onboarding materials and presentations to support new employee induction.
  • Foster team-building activities to cultivate a positive office culture while assisting with events, workshops, visitor coordination, marketing materials preparation, and executive support functions.


A good match:

  • Certificate IV in Business Administration or equivalent qualification.
  • Proficiency in office management solutions alongside expertise in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments with strong problem-solving skills for creative solutions.
  • Exhibits high responsibility, commitment to service excellence, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks calmly under pressure.
  • Confident communicator capable of liaising effectively across global teams to align local practices with corporate standards.

Therefore, we developed the first modular mRNA-manufacturing facilities based on a container solution called “BioNTainers”. Help us build a regional manufacturing network in Africa & Australia: With the region and for the region. As a part of the local team, driving the establishment of the regional end-to-end mRNA manufacturing solutions.
