The Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) works to support networks, schools, and families with all issues related to special education including instruction, interventions, and legal and compliance support. OSD provides the tools and resources to ensure that all diverse learners receive a high-quality public education that prepares students for success. Diverse Learners in our district refers to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans. OSD supports networks, schools, and families with all issues related to special education, including instruction, interventions, and legal and compliance support.Job Summary: Reporting to the Director of Business Operations, the Business Operations Administrator leads and facilitates the operational workflows to ensure OSD procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and compliance standards are continuously maintained. This role partners with OSD leadership to develop and implement data-informed marketing and communications campaigns that champion institutional values, articulate core vision, and showcase overarching district milestones. This is an exempt position that is paid on a salary basis. The Business Operations Administrator will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:Leads the operational workflow to execute the update of OSD procedures, SOPs, and communications, ensuring continuous district compliance, streamlined cross-functional workflows, and the timely resolution of administrative bottlenecks across all school-support initiativesSupervise, develop, and manage the performance of a team of direct reports, driving professional growth, ensuring project deadline adherence, and tracking key metrics for OSDLead targeted, data-informed digital marketing initiatives and social media messaging for OSD, in alignment with special education regulations; evaluate marketing campaign effectiveness, adjusting strategies to reach target goals, assessing special education market trends, compliance standards, and institutional priorities to advance organizational objectivesCollaborate across multi-functional CPS teams to maintain currency across public communications, training manuals, and digital engagement channelsPartner across OSD departments to execute targeted recruitment campaigns, enhance retention strategies, and establish robust operational frameworksAdminister fiscal allocations and operational frameworks to support OSD initiativesOther duties and workstreams as assigned
In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Business Operations Administrator must possess the following qualifications: Education Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or universityMaster’s degree preferred Experience Required: Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting program operationsMinimum of three (3) years of experience leading multi-channel digital marketing, social media strategies, and public messaging campaignsRelated experience within a school district, large public institution, or special education context preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to work effectively in a culturally and educationally diverse environmentAbility to quickly gain and leverage knowledge of Special Education policy and regulations to ensure full compliance across all messaging and initiatives Knowledge of public funding allocations, budget tracking, and financial compliance for promotional and workforce development programsAbility to analyze market data, campaign metrics, and audience engagement statistics to optimize digital marketing strategies and drive measurable results Advanced written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex district visions, translate policy into public facing content, and draft executive briefings Ability to continuously evaluate campaign performance, pivot strategies mid-stream based on data, and respond effectively to policy updates Ability to manage competing priorities, balancing urgent public communication needs alongside long-term workforce development initiatives in a fast paced public school system Benefits:Health & Wellness: Your Care, Your ChoiceCPS is committed to providing comprehensive health coverage to our employees and their eligible dependents. The Chicago residency requirement does not apply to temporary/part-time positions; however, all CPS employees must be residents of Illinois.
