
The Business Office Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring efficient administrative operations within our fast-paced Ambulatory Surgery Center. Responsibilities include patient check-in, data entry, reception management, document handling, and administrative support across various business office functions. The ideal candidate is highly organized and customer-focused with prior experience in a healthcare or business office setting.
1. Data Entry & Records Management
Accurately enter and update patient, vendor, and employee data in electronic systems.
Review data for accuracy, ensuring HIPAA and confidentiality compliance.
Organize, scan, and maintain both physical and digital records.
Generate internal reports as needed.
2. Front Desk & Customer Service
Greet and assist patients, visitors, and vendors in a professional and courteous manner.
Answer and route calls; take and relay accurate messages.
Schedule appointments, verify insurance, and gather required documentation.
Maintain reception area appearance and manage visitor protocols.
Process mail and deliveries efficiently.
3. General Office Support
Perform administrative duties such as copying, faxing, and document preparation.
Track office supplies.
Assist with record management, and compliance documentation.
Support the facility's adherence to The Joint Commission, HIPAA, and internal policies.
Provide additional clerical support as assigned.
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Dependable with strong attention to detail.
Preferred:
2 years' experience in a healthcare, administrative, or customer service role.
Experience with data entry and document management.
