Nemours Estate is seeking a part-time Business Office Assistant to join our team!

Nemours Estate is a 225-acre public garden and historic home dating back to 1910. Its benefactor, Alfred I. duPont, also established the Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware, with which it shares a campus and legacy. As a historic property and public garden, Nemours Estate is perhaps the only such location worldwide situated beside a pediatric hospital. Consequently, the Estate is uniquely placed to explore the intersections of health, well-being, arts, history, and horticulture.

The Business Office Assistant position is part-time, 20 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, and responsible for providing administrative support at Nemours Estate. The Business Office Assistant will report directly to the Estate Business Office Supervisor and will provide administrative support to the Estate Leadership Team and Estate Staff.

The Assistant will perform multiple responsibilities requiring general knowledge of Nemours Estate, the Alfred I. duPont Charitable Trust and Nemours Children’s Health. The person in this position must demonstrate exceptional professionalism, confidentiality, and tact that fosters a positive environment with leadership, staff, patient families and guests.

Skills required to successfully perform this role include attention to detail, prioritizing tasks, processing multiple inquiries with flexibility, quick problem solving, and time management. Excellent communication, grammar, and computer skills are essential. Additional requirements include following instructions, accountability, and working in a fast-paced office environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Stock, organize and replenish copy room supplies, break room supplies, first aid kits, and branded swag merchandise in multiple Estate buildings.
2. Maintain and troubleshoot malfunctioning printers, computers, laptops, cell phones and other office equipment in multiple Estate buildings.
3. Monitor the functionality and locations of Estate AED devices. Track issues with Biomedical Engineering Department & Public Safety Department.
4. Order, set up and clean up catering orders for multiple Estate departments.
5. Occasionally pick up office supplies and catering orders at off-site locations.
6. Order flowers for miscellaneous occasions.
7. Periodically retrieve and distribute documents, boxes, packages, swag, and miscellaneous items to various Estate and hospital buildings and personnel on Nemours property.
8. Assist with Estate events and programs throughout the year, as needed.

Assist Estate Leadership and Estate Staff with miscellaneous tasks, as assigned by the Estate Business Office Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma required
• Valid driver’s license is required
• Minimum of 1 year of administrative assistant experience required
