We are looking for an entrepreneurial and commercially driven Business Manager within Software Engineering who wants to play a key role in building our business, growing customer relationships, expanding engineering teams, and creating long-term value for our customers.

This is not a traditional sales or account management position.

The role combines business development, customer ownership, people leadership, recruitment responsibility, and sponsorship of Outcome Based Services engagements. You will have a high degree of ownership and influence while leveraging the strength, expertise, and capabilities of the Bertrandt Group.

YOUR MISSION

As Business Manager within Software Engineering, you will be responsible for developing and growing your customer portfolio across both Traditional Engineering Services (Time & Material) and Outcome Based Services.

You will lead customer development, build and develop software engineering teams, drive recruitment activities, and help ensure successful execution of customer engagements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development & Customer Management

• Full commercial ownership of assigned customer accounts
• Drive sales of Traditional Engineering Services (Time & Material)
• Identify, develop, and win Outcome Based Services opportunities
• Develop long-term customer relationships and strategic stakeholder networks
• Manage RFQs and commercial opportunities
• Lead commercial negotiations within delegated authority
• Manage sales pipeline and forecasts
• Develop account growth strategies and identify new business opportunities
• Position Bertrandt as a preferred engineering partner

Outcome Based Services Leadership

• Act as commercial and leadership sponsor for Outcome Based Services engagements
• Ensure appropriate governance, leadership, and steering throughout the engagement lifecycle
• Secure that projects are staffed with the right competencies and delivery setup
• Leverage capabilities across the Bertrandt Group to build competitive and scalable delivery organizations
• Support project teams and SPOCs in achieving agreed objectives and milestones
• Monitor performance, quality, customer satisfaction, and business results
• Identify and mitigate risks and ensure timely escalation when required
• Drive continuous improvement and lessons learned across ongoing engagements
• Support long-term customer success and business growth

People Leadership

• Line management responsibility for software engineering consultants
• Performance management and coaching

Talent Acquisition & Team Growth

• Own recruitment activities within the Software Engineering business area
• Forecast hiring needs based on customer demand and growth plans

• Conduct interviews and candidate evaluations
• Support hiring decisions and onboarding activities
• Build sustainable competence pipelines for future growth
• Strengthen Bertrandt's employer brand within the engineering and software community

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar
• Experience within automotive software development
• Experience from engineering consulting, software services, or technology consulting
• Strong understanding of software development, embedded systems, systems engineering, connectivity, cloud solutions, AUTOSAR, or related domains
• Proven track record in business development and customer management
• Experience in leadership, project environments, or engineering organizations
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
