Job Description

At Tribe Mortgages NL we provide customers with the means to finance the purchase of their family home, and we help manage their living needs afterwards. We do this at scale: ING’s mortgage business is one of the largest lenders in the Netherlands. Besides the opportunity to have a profound impact on our customers’ lives, this also means that it is our duty to serve our customers responsibly: to ensure that our products and their risks are well-understood, to monitor our processes for flaws and mistakes that may impact our customers and to help keep our bank safe & compliant. Our ambition is to create a customer experience that truly stands out. We align with ING’s positioning: frictionless, empowering, and smart. We aim to support customers and intermediaries with intelligent solutions that make the process easier, faster, and more personal. To realize our vision, we are looking for top talents with a transformative and commercial mindset with customer centricity, digital and data in their DNA. You will work together with a very ambitious, diverse and talented team with the mission to make a real impact on ‘living’ in The Netherlands.

Your role

  • Acting as a sparring partner and sounding board to the Mortgages Management Team (Tribe lead and Area leads). We expect you to have the courage to enrich the Management team with your objective view, commercial sense and data-driven mindset, while considering the interests of all relevant stakeholders.
  • Be actively involved in the execution of the mortgage strategy and priorities: monitoring, identifying/solving bottlenecks, organizing alignment in the value chain.
  • Prepare communications, presentations and briefing notes for various key (internal & external) stakeholders (such as the Head of Retail, MBB, senior management, staff, ECB and DNB) including business cases, proposals, webcasts and town halls.
  • Coordinate and oversee preparations of materials and agenda for the internal MT Mortgages meetings.
  • Monitor the progress of key financial and non-financial performance metrics, ensuring actions are allocated to the relevant people and are acted upon.
  • Coordinating the Dynamic plan + Rolling Forecast (budget), QBR process and launch follow-up actions.
  • Acting as a linking pin within the value chain and initiating actions to bring our business forward. You develop and maintain new networks and, in doing so, create opportunities.

About you

  • You have a solid understanding of the Dutch Mortgage market, including distribution & sales, market dynamics, products and processes.
  • You know where a mortgage creates value, from both a consumer as well as a lender perspective. You understand the importance of topics like advice, customer retention, risk and sustainability.
  • Translating strategy into policy and detailed, executable plans gives you energy. You take a central role within change projects and you posses change management skills.
  • As a self-starter, you have great organisational skills, a structured way of working and attention to detail.
  • You are organisationally sensitive and capable of creating buy-in and engagement at all levels of the organisation.
  • You have a proven track-record with convincing (senior) leadership teams on strategic topics, you know how to balance different interests and draw the right conclusions to move forward.
  • You are a naturally collaborative person, who listens and at the same time pushes, where needed, to break through existing routines.
  • You have a background in consultancy-related roles with strong analytical skills, a structured way of working and you are able to translate complexity into structured approaches.
  • You feel comfortable with high work pressure, deadlines and you have strong work ethics.
  • Your skilled to prepare inspiring presentations and short and snappy briefings with outstanding PowerPoint skills. You are familiar with and make use of AI support tools when valuable.
  • You have a ‘can do’ mentality, proactive, resourceful, and willing to go the extra mile
