The Private Equity Solutions Group Business Analyst on the Business Management team will take ownership and work on projects for the Private Equity Solutions Group (“PESG”) related to client coverage, group strategy, and broader firm initiatives. The Business Analyst will obtain a ‘behind the scenes’ perspective of the investment banking industry and specifically how private equity coverage is approached and executed.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain multiple CRM and market intelligence databases in Excel and Salesforce

  • Gather and synthesize market intelligence for internal reporting and client facing materials

  • Automate and take ownership of regular reporting and analysis

  • Create and maintain team and firm credentials (Excel, PPT)

  • Create company and industry reports and maintain market screens (Sponsor-owned public company screen, debt screen etc.)

  • Support client relationships including tailored materials, pitch support and client interaction participation

  • Liaise with partner groups to coordinate knowledge sharing

  • Support project-based work in partnership with internal teams (PESG, business management, data science, etc.)

  • Ensure team organization and follow-through on next steps and follow-up items

  • Network with internal client groups and support PESG efforts to work with these groups

Required Skills/Characteristics

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Suite – Excel, PPT, Word, etc.)

    • Preferred but not required, any experience with Macros, Pivot Tables and Programming in VBA

  • Exposure to the following resources is a plus: Salesforce, Preqin and/or Bloomberg

Background/Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in a business-related major

  • 0-2 years of experience in the financial services industry, financial research and/or analysis preferred

  • Excellent quantitative analytical skills and experience

  • Previous Data Analysis, Client Support, Analytics, or banking experience preferred

Expected Salary Range: USD $75,000 - $85,000
