International Wealth & Premier Banking (IWPB) leverages HSBC’s global wealth and premier banking expertise and capabilities to deliver a broad range of world-class wealth banking solutions to customers. We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of Business Learning & Development Maanager.
Responsibilities:
Impact on the Business
- Develop and execute the Distribution Learning & Development that aligned with business goals and regulatory priorities.
- Design the distribution channel learning framework through staff learning analysis gap, performance insights, and workforce planning.
- Lead and coordinate induction and onboarding training for all new joiners, including scheduling and coordinating training across channels and branches.
- Ensuring new joiners complete mandatory/role-specific training within required timelines.
- Tracking completion, assessing readiness, and reporting progress to business leaders.
- Ensure licensing requirements such as investment and insurance products, including exam management, CPD requirements, renewals, and reporting.
- Design and deliver learning programmes to uplift productivity, sales capability, andservice standards.
- Manage learning & training budget, and training vendor performance.
Customers / Stakeholders
- Engage business leaders, HR Learning and Talent Development, Branch Managers and Wealth Specialist to collaborate on capability development and licensing requirements.
- Work with Sales Management to identify areas for development and growth.
- Provide advisory on licensing prerequisites for new roles, onboarding, and career progression.
- Maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, exam providers, and training vendors.
- Ensure Learning and Development and licensing processes meet business needs, regulatory expectations, and service standards.
Leadership & Teamwork
- Ensure team members understand regulatory requirements for training and licensing.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, high performance, and operational discipline.
- Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, HR, Wealth Specialists, and branch operations to ensure alignment.
Operational Effectiveness & Control
- Oversee accurate and up-to-date training records, licensing data, CPD hours, and audit documentation.
- Implement governance for training materials, licensing documentation, and exam processes.
- Monitor licensing expiry dates and ensure proactive renewal.
- Ensure compliance with internal and regulatory audit requirements.
- Maintain updated SOPs for licensing and training operations.
- Accountable the “Fit and Proper” criteria as set out in BNM Guidelines on Investor Protection, ensure timely updates, exceptional reporting and corrective actions are implemented with zero audit findings.
- Conduct annual review and periodic assessment of all training programmes, learning materials, competency framework and licensing requirements to ensure relevance, regulatory compliance, and alignment with business strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree and above with minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in the field of Learning and Development
- Strong analytical skill to design the learning and training framework and deliver quality outcomes.
- Excellent training capabilities, experience in IWPB frontline is a plus
- Independent team-worker and agile in behavior and mind-set
- Good communication and relationship management skills
- Proven ability to work under pressure within demanding timelines
- Demonstrate strong alignment with HSBC values and embedding the values in day-to-day behaviors and decision making
- Passion on people’s growth and development.
- Advanced levels of presentation skills using different platforms.
- Ability to create, manage and see through individual development plans.
