For our group company, Ibero Kenya Limited, we are looking for a Business Intelligence & Systems Analyst.
The position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya and reports directly to Regional Head of Controlling & Shared Services.
The Business Intelligence & Systems Analyst – East Africa Shared Services will support the Regional Head of Controlling & Shared Services in driving digital transformation, AI and data enabled analytics, and system optimization across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
This role focuses on consolidating fragmented systems, creating single source of truth dashboards with exception reporting, automating manual processes, and implementing AI-driven insights and predictive models to optimize finance, operations, and trading decisions.
Additionally, the role will act as the central point for all system operational changes, ensuring system security and controls, and driving cross-business unit integration to deliver real-time, actionable insights.
Your responsibilities
System Optimization & Process Harmonization
Identify fragmented finance, operations, and cross-functional systems and design strategies for integration and harmonization.
Implement solutions including AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics solutions for forecasting, anomaly detection, and decision support.
Lead initiatives to reduce manual interventions by leveraging automation and AI-driven process enhancements.
Maintain a centralized repository of process and system documentation including models and their governance.
Act as the centralized authority for all system changes, ensuring approval, control, and documentation of modifications to ERP, reporting, or automated processes.
Business Intelligence & Dashboards
Build single source of truth dashboards across finance, operations, and coffee trading/origins, integrating insights for predictive and prescriptive analytics.
Design and maintain coffee trading and origin pipeline dashboards, tracking stock, shipments, quality, margins, pricing, and operational KPIs in real-time.
Implement automated exception and anomaly alerts powered by AI models to flag risks, quality issues, or operational inefficiencies.
Develop predictive models for cash flow, inventory, trading margins, and operational performance.
Digitization, Automation & AI Integration
Identify manual or repetitive processes suitable for automation and AI augmentation.
Lead implementation of workflow approvals, automated validations, and process automation in ERP and reporting systems (e.g., Sun, XBS).
Develop predictive and prescriptive analytics dashboards to support decision-making.
Participate in system enhancement projects, UAT, and AI/analytics model deployment.
Drive paperless initiatives through document management and automated workflows.
System Controls, Security & Governance
Ensure all system operational controls, workflows, and access rights are centralized and governed according to Group policies.
Collaborate with IT to maintain system security, segregation of duties, audit trails, and AI model governance.
Monitor adherence to system controls and coordinate resolution of discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with internal control frameworks, data privacy, and security standards across all systems.
Data Analytics, Financial Insights & Forecasting
Provide AI & data driven insights into cost structures, inventory positions, trading margins, and operational efficiency.
Build predictive and driver-based forecasting models across business units to support strategy, trading decisions, and operational planning.
Prepare executive summaries and board-ready reports highlighting risks, opportunities, and recommendations from data analytics perspective.
Provide scenario modeling and advanced simulations for finance, operations, and trading teams on need basis.
Coffee Trading & Origins Operations Support
Track and analyze coffee stock positions, quality grades, shipments, pricing, and risk exposure using BI and AI analytics.
Provide predictive insights into trading, optimizing purchases, inventory, and delivery schedules.
Identify cost efficiency and profitability opportunities in operations, logistics, and quality management using analytics and AI models.
Ensure dashboards deliver actionable insights to enhance decision-making in trading and origins operations.
Continuous Improvement & Cross-Functional Leadership
Identify opportunities to centralize, streamline, and automate finance and operational processes.
Drive adoption of digital tools, AI-driven decision-making, and automation culture across East Africa.
Lead and coordinate developers working on various streams of work.
Organize monthly learning sessions on BI, AI, analytics, and automation best practices.
Support regional finance transformation and shared service optimization initiatives.
Your profile
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Professional certification in BI, Data Analytics, or Systems (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, ERP certifications).
Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in business intelligence, data analytics, systems optimization, or finance process automation.
Strong understanding of ERP systems (Sun, SAP, Oracle), BI tools (Power BI, Tableau), and process automation.
Experience managing system developers and coordinating IT teams on security, interfaces, and process improvements.
Experience in finance, operational reporting, or shared services within a regional/multi-country environment is preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
Ability to consolidate fragmented data and create actionable insights.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to drive automation and digital transformation initiatives.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Knowledge of internal controls, system security, and data governance principles.
