Business Intelligence intern
Reports to: Local BI Manager
Internship duration: 6 months to 1 year, from July 2026
Context / background
CHANEL GK IT is embarking on a journey to transform its operating model and the information system architecture, shifting towards a model leveraging global capabilities and local expertise.
Under this framework, the Japan IT team is starting a multi-years transformation program aiming at modernizing the full stack of its BI architecture as well as all reporting capabilities.
of position and missions
The Business Intelligence intern is to work closely with the following stakeholders: local and Global BI experts, local business Key users of Chanel 3 divisions, Top management (occasionally)
His/her scope of intervention will cover from business needs gathering, reports analysis and/or testing, up to user training and after launch follow-up.
His/her main mission will be to support the Japan BI manager in both the program management as well as on concrete actions related to the change from current to new BI architecture/tools suite.
The second mission is to set the foundation and drive pilot projects related to the usage of Machine learning. The candidate will help setting key architecture bricks and principles while working a concrete use case leveraging Japan existing data.
Qualifications
Good interpersonal, problem solving, conflict resolution, facilitation.
Good verbal and written communication skills (fluent English mandatory, Japanese JLPT N3)
Self-starter: takes direction and self-motivated to work autonomously
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
Willingness to develop projects and collaborate with stakeholders inside the organization
Knowledge on Machine learning and/or Power BI is a plus

University or Graduate School student
Internship Visa (Designated Activities Visa); your university or Graduate School needs to prove that the internship represents a mandatory of your academic curriculum, and to guarantee that the intern can get the internship accredited.
