We are looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer to work in Ponsse’s Group Business Finance team in Finland.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of Finance and IT, ensuring that finance data and reporting are reliable, scalable, and support business decision-making. You will play a key role in developing modern finance data solutions and reporting capabilities, combining financial understanding with strong analytical and technical skills.

What you will do

• Ensure the quality and reliability of finance data and reporting across multiple systems and data sources.
• Investigate and resolve data-related issues by identifying root causes in data sources, data flows, and data models.
• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reporting solutions and semantic models.
• Develop modern finance data architecture and reporting capabilities in collaboration with IT and Data teams.
• Drive AI adoption and implement AI-enabled solutions to enhance Finance processes and tools.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, IT, and Data teams to translate requirements into analytical solutions, and design and build them.

What we are looking for

• Experience with business intelligence, analytics, and data engineering solutions.
• Strong SQL skills, hands-on experience with data modeling and data flows, and solid understanding of data quality principles.
• Proven ability to identify and solve complex data issues through root-cause analysis.
• Experience in building and developing modern data platforms and finance data architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI and ability to create impactful end-user reporting.
• Understanding of financial KPIs, and finance and management reporting processes.
• Interest in AI, with a willingness to explore and apply AI-driven solutions in Finance.
• Fluency in English is required; Finnish language skills are considered an advantage

As a person, you are curious and analytical, with a strong drive to understand how data works end-to-end. You take ownership of problems and proactively work towards scalable solutions. You are comfortable working independently while collaborating across teams.

You will be part of Ponsse’s Group Business Finance team, reporting to Head of Business Finance. Your working location will be in Finland: Kuopio, Tampere, Kajaani, Turku, or Vieremä. We work in a hybrid model.
