We are seeking a talented and data-driven Business Intelligence Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will leverage data, analytics, and modern BI technologies to transform complex business information into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making across the organization.
As a Business Intelligence Engineer your tasks will include the following:
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models that support business decision-making across the organization.
- Gather and analyze business requirements, working closely with stakeholders to translate them into effective and scalable BI solutions.
- Develop and optimize DAX measures, calculations, and Power Query transformations to deliver accurate and meaningful insights.
- Develop user-centric dashboards and reports that transform complex data into actionable insights, enabling self-service analytics and supporting strategic business growth.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple data sources.
- Support the development and maintenance of ETL/data preparation processes to ensure reliable and timely data availability.
- Perform data modeling and data transformation activities within the Power BI environment following best practices.
- Analyze business data to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for operational and commercial improvements.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, integrity, and security across BI solutions and reporting processes.
- Collaborate with data engineering and technology teams to integrate and leverage data from Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and other enterprise platforms where applicable.
- Assist in maintaining data governance standards, documentation, and reporting best practices.
- Stay current with emerging Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and BI technologies, recommending and implementing improvements where appropriate.
- Provide support, guidance, and training to business users to maximize the value and adoption of BI solutions.
What we look for:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in a Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or related role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, including dashboard development, data modeling, report optimization, and visualization best practices.
- Proficiency in DAX and Power Query (M language)
- Solid SQL skills with experience querying and transforming data from relational databases.
- Experience working with Azure-based data platforms and services
- Ability to translate business requirements into impactful and user-friendly BI solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data quality.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with Power Automate and Power Apps is considered an advantage.
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric and/or Databricks is considered a strong plus.
- Knowledge of Python for data analysis and automation will be considered an asset.

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)
Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.
If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:
- A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
- Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)
- HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)
- Financial background check
- Employment reference check.
- If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK.
In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
