Salary: $81,549 to $101,951 annually

Status: Permanent Full-time

Closing Date: October 21, 2026

Position Summary

Build the Power BI dashboards and reports that turn workforce data into decisions for University Health Network's People & Culture (P&C) department - from turnover trends to workforce planning across one of Canada's largest health networks. As a BI Developer, you'll own Workday and UKG reporting for our HRIS transformation, working directly with P&C and operational stakeholders to translate what they need into dashboards built on certified semantic models.

This role comes with real influence over how our P&C data model evolves. You'll be the primary link between P&C and our Enterprise Data Team, shaping what the underlying data needs to support, without owning the pipeline yourself. You'll need strong Power BI, DAX, and Microsoft Fabric skills, plus the ability to translate a stakeholder's problem into something buildable. In return: ownership of the reporting layer, a real voice in the data model's direction, and a front-row seat to a major HR systems transformation as UHN moves to Workday and UKG.

Duties

  • Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports as trusted, adopted data products for P&C, applying strong DAX and data visualization practices, and manage report deployment, testing, and ongoing support across production releases.
  • Act as the day-to-day liaison between P&C and the Enterprise Data Team on data infrastructure requirements.
  • Lead reporting requirements gathering for Microsoft Fabric as part of the HRIS transformation project, supporting go-live and stabilization, including technical specifications for people data metrics across organizational layers and roles.
  • Provide subject-matter input into semantic model design owned by the Enterprise Data Team and validate that analytical endpoints meet P&C reporting needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, an Analytics-related field, or recognized equivalent.
  • 2 to 3 years of practical, related experience building Power BI dashboards and reports on certified/governed semantic models required.
  • Strong understanding of Power BI/Fabric architecture, DAX, and semantic model concepts required.
  • Preferred technical knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) to build reporting solutions on certified semantic models and to provide informed input into data model design.
  • Completion of Microsoft PL-300 and/or DP-600 certifications are considered strong assets.
  • Excellent requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement skills; ability to translate business needs from non-technical stakeholders into realistic, scalable reporting specifications.
  • Working understanding of People Analytics data concepts and metrics.
  • Experience with using Workday and/or UKG as data sources is a strong asset.
  • Prior experience in healthcare or another regulated environment is an asset.
