THE ORGANIZATIONAL SETTING
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) sets international Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) for aviation safety, air navigation, security, and environmental protection. To that effect, ICAO is a knowledge-based organization engaged in the development of intellectual property.
The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Section, under the Bureau of Administration and Services (ADB), is a service provider that plans, acquires, develops and manages the organization’s enterprise applications and systems. Key activities of the Section include the establishment of core infrastructure and network services; software development and support for enterprise applications; Enterprise Architecture and Project Management; Enterprise Data Management (EDM); Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) support, Web content management and Regional Offices (RO) support.
ICAO has recently completed several major Digital Transformation signature projects modernizing key organizational systems and processes. These initiatives have strengthened ICAO’s ability to support Member States, leverage emerging technologies, and enhance the management of its intellectual property and knowledge resources. Among these initiatives, the Business Intelligence and Enterprise Data Management (BI-EDM) signature project has laid the foundations for the operationalization of Enterprise Data Management (Data Governance, Data Security Management, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence (BI) Management, and other Data Management knowledge areas) towards a data-driven ICAO.
The Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence knowledge area of ICAO’s Enterprise Data Management framework, which is based on the Data Management Association’s (DAMA) Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBoK), requires human resource(s) versed in database management systems, data warehouses, data lakes, data engineering, data integration, data analysis, Microsoft Power BI and Oracle report development to support enterprise data analysis, Business Intelligence (BI) and reporting for ICAO’s functional departments such as Finance, Human Resources, Procurement, Capacity Development, Regional Offices, etc.
Reporting to the Data Management Officer, the incumbent supports the ongoing development, maintenance and enhancement of analytical and reporting data artefacts, working closely with business and technical resources, stakeholders, and third-party vendors.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
The duration of the assignment is one (1) year.Compensation is provided at a monthly rate ranging from CAD 7,562 to CAD 10,910.
