Job Description

As an Analyst II, you will play a critical role in transforming clinical and operational data into meaningful insights that directly support patient care, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making across Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. You will collaborate closely with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to design and deliver high-quality reporting solutions that help leaders understand performance,identifytrends, and drive improvement.

This role offers handson involvement with Epic’s reporting ecosystem,leveragingtools such as SlicerDicer, Reporting Workbench, and RadarDashboardsalongsideMicrosoft tools like Power BI to deliver actionable, reliable, and well-governed analytics.You’llwork at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and analytics, helping ensure that data isaccurate, trusted, and accessible to those making critical decisions every day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and gather requirements for Epic reporting solutions.

  • Design, develop, andmaintaincustom reports within the Epic reporting framework, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data.

  • Utilize Epic's reporting tools to create and enhance reports based on end-user needs.

  • Work with Epic analysts and endusers to troubleshoot and resolve reporting functionality or data integrity issues.

  • Collaborate with the Data and Analytics team to integrate Epic reporting solutions with other systems and data sources.

  • Provide training and support to endusers onutilizingand interpreting Epic reports.

  • Participate in the planning and execution of system upgrades and enhancements related to Epic reporting.

  • Document technical specifications, data mappings, and report configurations in our enterprise data catalog.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies in developing andmaintainingEpic reports.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

User requirements

  • Gather,prepareand analyze user requirements to create complex reports and simple to moderate dashboards,utilizingenterprise data systems (such as Epic Slicer Dicer,Clarity & Caboodle,Microsoft toolsincludingPowerBIetc.).

  • Participate in technical code reviews, including reviewing simplecodeof others.

  • Perform change management when reporting system modifications are needed.

  • Follow build, configuration and release management processes and meet user and technical documentation standards as set by CCHMC.

  • Translate business user questions into data solutions.

  • Utilize and contribute to the CCHMC information glossary to refer to governed definitions when analyzing and creating reports.

Training

  • Provide end user training asrequiredfor newhiresor when changes are made to existing applications/systems.

  • Create educational materials for end user training, adoption & activation including, but not limited to job aids, lesson plans & quick start guides.

  • Provide ad hoc analysis for hospital departments and divisions accurately andin a timely manner, includingassistancewith understanding the data and potential gaps.

Technicalskills

  • Continually develop professional skills.

  • Maintain Epic certifications whereappropriate

  • Expand oral and written communication skills, particularly related to translating customer requirements into BI solutions.

  • Plan and execute testing plans.

Project management

  • Timely completion of assigned tasks

  • Accurate& timelycommunication ofstatus.

  • Effective time management and prioritization of assigned tasks.

  • Assistwith setting task priorities and timelines.

  • Responsible foridentification ofissues with potential solutions.

  • Serve as project manager for simple projects.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Analysis

  • Analyze Business Intelligence requests to align with existing tools and processes.

  • Organize and complete assigned tasks and associated documentation upon directives from supervisor.

  • Use troubleshooting skills to effectively support Business Intelligence solutions.

  • Develop support plans fornew solutions

  • Escalate unresolved issues with urgency.

  • Seek theappropriate resourcesneeded for activities with multiple tasks.

  • Coordinate andfacilitatecommunication between internal and external parties on assigned tasks and related issues.

  • Be personally accountable for commitments to projects, timelines,and deliverables.

  • Effectively work withcross-functionalteams and customers to identify build deficiencies based on customer reporting requests.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • 2+ years of work experience inrelatedjob discipline

PREFERRED

What would we like you to have:

  • Previousclinical experience in a healthcare or hospital setting is a plus.

  • Certification in Epic's Cogito Administration or relevant Epic certifications.

  • Proven experience in report development within the Epic reporting environment, including familiarity with Clarity or Caboodle.

  • Knowledge of healthcare industry standards and regulations, including HIPAA, and the ability to ensure compliancewithreport development.

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI.

  • Familiarity with Epic modules and their underlying data structures is highly desirable.
