AT A GLANCE:
Broad River Retail is currently seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our IT and Business Intelligence team. This position will be responsible for supporting business unit-focused initiatives designed to help business partners drive value from information. Contributes to Broad River’s success by ensuring business needs and goals are realized through analysis and reporting activities of the Business Intelligence Team.
Responsible for empowering business leaders with concise, high-quality information, helping them leverage it to identify and address business opportunities and threats.
Provides consultation on the interpretation of data to various business partners throughout the organization and documenting the requirements in a format that can be shared with stakeholders.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS THIS MEMORY MAKER:
Elicit, analyze, and document business, functional, and (as needed) non-functional requirements using interviews, workshops, observation, and document review.
Define current-state and future-state processes; create process maps and workflow diagrams; identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Translate stakeholder needs into clear artifacts (user stories, use cases, business rules, acceptance criteria, and/or requirements specifications).
Facilitate requirements reviews and obtain stakeholder sign-off/approval; maintain requirements traceability through delivery.
Support solution design by validating that proposed approaches meet business intent, compliance needs, and operational constraints.
Plan and support testing (UAT strategy, test scenarios, test cases); triage defects; verify fixes align to requirements.
Analyze data to inform decisions (e.g., KPI definition, root-cause analysis, trend analysis); create simple dashboards or reporting requirements where applicable.
Create and maintain documentation (process docs, training materials, release notes) and support change management and end-user adoption.
Monitor post-implementation outcomes and drive continuous improvement through metrics, feedback loops, and retrospectives.
Supports all scheduled and non-recurring information needs of users.
Utilizes a user group forum to share best practices around analytical findings based on the analysis conducted.
Understands data elements in the data warehouse at a very detailed level to support any form of user needs from research to adhoc queries to managing large information projects.
Queries data to provide information requested by users.
Consolidates redundant reporting and ensure that information is used consistently and efficiently across the company.
Apply best practice for effective communication and problem-solving.
Provide 1st tier end user support regarding data related inquiries.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, or Computer Science
Proficient with the use of Excel (Excel Expert)
Fluent with Pivot tables and Power Query in Microsoft Excel
Prior experience and passion for leveraging data to drive significant business impact
Ability to perform critical thinking to achieve stated results around data manipulation
Possess the intellectual curiosity to work through ambiguity
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively and manage multiple projects/assignments
Proven ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
Understanding of SQL including Tables, View, Stored Procedures, Functions
Familiar with Sql Service Reporting Services 2016
Understanding of SSAS development, SSIS development and Agile methodology
Familiar with PowerBI
Experience working with one or more BI platforms
Ability to perform additional functions that may be assigned at the discretion of management.
