Job Description

Title: Business Information Systems Manager
Division Name: Finance and Planning
Department: Superintendence

The Business Information Systems Manager:

-Supervises a team of IT Service Analysts (BIS Team), providing critical support across all Facilities Services Departments
-Owns & manages the Facilities Services Technology Assessment Process
-Owns & defines Facilities Services BIS Team Governance
-Owns & administers the Facilities Services intranet
-Owns & administers the Facilities Services Document Management solution
-Owns & administers the Facilities Services CMMS Vendor Portal for submitting Work Order requests
-Reports to, assists, and consults with the Facilities Services Executive Director
-Gathers and shares budgetary information to support requested BIS Team outcomes across all departments
-Creates & maintains BIS Team training documentation for client support
-Creates & maintains Trades training documentation for supported system use

Key traits we are looking for include:

-Experience managing employees as a direct-report supervisor
-Experience delivering change management across different audiences
-Experience acting as a conduit between business needs and technology outcomes
-A self-starter with the ability to deliver recommended approaches using complex problem-solving skills

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

$70,000 - $90,000 annual

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, IT Management, Programmer, IT Systems or related degree (verify with transcript).

2. At least five (5) years of full time (or part time equivalent) professional level work experience as an Application Administrator or lead operational role in business and/or technology systems such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Electronic Access or similar IT systems, with project management experience in leading and managing projects throughout the project life cycle from initiation to closure. Three (3) years of the professional level work experience must have included supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with information technology systems such as WebTMA, 25Live, and Business Intelligence tools. As well as experience utilizing and managing GIS systems.

Work Hours

Core work hours are 8am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Business needs may occasionally require additional hours outside of core work hours.

Functional Expectations

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
2. Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work.
3. Remain at a workstation for extended periods.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.
