Role Purpose

As a Business in Retail (BIR) Advisor, you play a key role in driving business sales within the store, while also contributing to overall store performance through your individual targets.

This is a senior position within our retail team, designed for individuals who are confident in engaging business customers and who can balance commercial performance with exceptional customer experience. You will act as the in‑store champion for business customers, supporting both your own sales and enabling the wider team to identify and grow business opportunities.

Working closely with the Store Manager and Business Retail Channel Manager, you will support the delivery of our Business in Retail strategy, building strong connections with local SOHO and SME customers and contributing to new business growth within the store’s catchment area.

You will also play an important role in guiding and supporting colleagues, sharing knowledge on business products, processes, and best practice, while leading by example on the shop floor.

What you’ll do

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the in‑store ambassador for business customers, identifying and delivering tailored solutions to SOHO and SME segments
• Deliver against individual sales targets, contributing to overall store performance across all key KPIs
• Drive business connections within the store, working closely with the Business Retail Channel Manager to generate and close opportunities
• Identify opportunities to upsell and cross‑sell business solutions, including mobile, connectivity, and value‑added services
• Build and maintain strong relationships with business customers, creating long‑term loyalty through excellent service
• Take ownership of customer queries and business needs, ensuring timely and effective resolution
• Support the delivery of key performance measures, including sales volumes, business mix, and customer experience metrics
• Maintain accurate and timely completion of all administrative tasks associated with business sales
• Coach, mentor, and upskill colleagues on business products, services, and customer engagement
• Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, including local business teams, to support lead generation and account development.

Who you are

Skills and Experience:

Essential

• Previous retail or sales experience (typically 2+ years), advantageous with exposure to business customers.
• Experience engaging with both consumer and business customers in a customer‑facing environment
• Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to tailor your approach to different audiences
• A good understanding of mobile technology, data products, and digital solutions
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to team performance
• A proactive approach to identifying opportunities and taking ownership of customer outcomes
• Flexibility to work across store trading hours
• A strong awareness of market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs

Desirable

• Experience working towards and achieving sales KPIs in a target‑driven environment
• Previous experience supporting SME or B2B customers
• Familiarity with CRM systems, digital tools, or SaaS‑based solutions
• Understanding of compliance and data protection requirements (e.g. GDPR)
• Relevant third‑level qualification (Business, Sales, Marketing, or similar)
