Job Description

The Business Finance Manager provides financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting for all operations in AmSty. This would include performing duties to enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensures that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.  Additional responsibilities include maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, placing focus on optimizing department processes to increase accuracy and efficiency, conduct a variety of value added financial, operational and business process reviews in collaboration with other functions.  The incumbent will interact with various leadership levels and directly interact with all functions within the Company. The position will also work closely with third-party service providers.
 
This position can be located in St James, LA or the Woodlands, TX.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Finance focal point for all North America operations
  • Provide insight, analysis, guidance to Business Teams
  • Management of all monthly product costing standards
  • Contact for all Syntax tickets, review status weekly with reps
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, U.S GAAP, and any local governmental requirements
  • Responsibility for all activities with external auditors and third-party service providers
  • Participate on local Leadership Team for St. James identifying issues, concerns, impacts to financials
  • Coordination of financial forecasts, legal and management reporting, and cost center budgeting
  • Management of month-end financial closing activities
  • Problem solver for all aspects of AmSty’s business as it relates to Financials
  • Ensures integrity and accuracy of business financial data
  • Fosters good teamwork and interpersonal relationships
  • Conducts work in a safe manner
  • Other duties as directed by the Controller or CFO

Job Requirements

  • BBS or BS degree in Accounting, or equivalent
  • Strong management skills to manage staff in 2 locations
  • Proven computer skills, and experience using SAP a plus
  • Previous experience in manufacturing cost accounting is desired but not required
  • Strong coordination, communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Individual should be comfortable working with all levels and functions.
  • Candidate should be a self-starter, willing to participate on teams, have the ability to meet deadlines, and be proactive in supporting the functional partners to meet their needs.
  • A CPA or equivalent is preferred but not required.
Relocation is not available with this position.
