How you succeed

To excel in this role, you'll need to be meticulous, organized, and have a keen eye for detail. You'll work closely with our business banking team to provide administrative support, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurate and timely. Your ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and maintain confidentiality will be essential to your success.

What you do

The analyst supports the financial planning, performance management and business decision-making processes for the Emerging Business and Middle Market segments in the Commercial Banking franchise. The role partners closely with Finance, Product, Sales, Relationship Management, Risk, Operations and Strategy teams to provide timely financial analysis, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and business insights.

Responsibilities

Financial Planning and Forecasting

  • Support the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting exercises
  • Assist in preparing financial projections covering revenue drivers and expenses
  • Track performance against budget and forecast, highlighting key variances and underlying drivers

Management Reporting and Performance Analysis

  • Produce regular management reports and insights for the stakeholders
  • Analyse trends in loan and deposit growth, interest income and margins, fee income, customer acquisition, operating expenses, productivity and portfolio profitability
  • Monitor key financial and business KPIs and provide actionable insights to management

Business Partnering

  • Work closely with the product and sales teams to understand the performance drivers
  • Assist in preparing materials for business reviews and management meetings
  • Respond to ad-hoc financial analysis requests from business stakeholders

Data Analytics and Process Improvement

  • Drive the use of automation, digitalisation and AI to improve reporting efficiency
  • Utilise data visualisation tools to enhance management reporting and improve stakeholders engagement
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data used in reporting and forecasting

Who you are

  • Degree in Finance or equivalent with some programming experience.
  • Mature, proactive and analytical with an aptitude for numbers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Technical competencies in data visualisation and data analytics tools such as SQL, Qlikview, Python, Microsoft Power Platform (eg. Power Query, Power Pivot, Power BI), etc will be added advantages.
  • Team player who possess good communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work within tight deadlines.
