The EUV Factory develops, builds, and tests the most advanced lithography systems before they move to customer sites. The team focuses on improving system performance and supporting operational excellence across all production activities. A key challenge is increasing the accuracy and transparency of Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) data, which strongly influences machine availability and service efficiency. Today’s MTTR data contains timestamp gaps, inconsistent logging practices, and limited visibility into real-life repair execution. This internship helps the team understand these gaps and propose improvements that support reliable and predictable service actions.
In this internship, you explore how MTTR data is captured, how service actions take place on the factory floor, and how both can be better aligned. You work closely with engineers and technicians to understand how operational behavior translates into data. You also assess which process, logging, or workflow improvements enable more accurate reporting. Your findings help enhance transparency and strengthen performance improvement initiatives.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Investigate how timestamps and service logs are recorded during repair activities.
Analyze accuracy, completeness, and consistency of existing logging structures.
Observe real-life service actions in the cleanroom to understand operational behavior.
Identify gaps between recorded data and actual repair execution.
Recommend improvements in workflows, documentation practices, or reporting structures.
Support transparency by contributing to clearer data interpretation guidelines.
Document findings and present improvement proposals to stakeholders.
This is a bachelor’s or master’s (thesis) internship for a minimum of 5 months, for a minimum of 4 days per week (approximately 4 days on-site, flexibility possible). The start date of this internship is projected at the end of August 2026, with the possibility to start earlier.
To be suitable for the internship, you:
Are pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Are analytical and able to translate data insights into real operational behavior.
Have affinity with a technical environment, and are comfortable walking around the factory floor and asking questions during observations.
Are collaborative and willing to engage with technicians and engineers.
Are able to communicate in English on a professional level.
Other requirements you need to meet
You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
You need tobe located inthe Netherlands to beable toperform your internship. In case you ‘re currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness torelocate
If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e.,Nufficagreement).

Who are we?
ASML is an innovation leader in the global semiconductor industry. We make machines that chipmakers use to mass produce microchips. Founded in 1984 in the Netherlands with just a handful of employees, we’ve now grown to over 40,000 employees, 143 nationalities and more than 60 locations around the world.
What do we do?
We provide chipmakers with hardware, software and services to mass produce patterns on silicon through lithography. Our lithography systems use ultraviolet light to create billions of tiny structures on silicon that together make up a microchip. We push our technology to new limits to enable our customers to create smaller, faster and more powerful chips.
Who are our people?
While you may think that only engineers and mathematicians work at ASML, you'll be surprised to find out that our people come from a wide variety of backgrounds. Across ASML, we have dedicated teams that manage customer support, communications and media, IT, software development and more. Every team in the company is essential for pushing our technology and the industry forward.
If you love to tackle challenges and innovate in a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment with all the flexibility and freedom to unleash your full potential, ASML is the place to be.
