We are looking for a dynamic Business Director to lead and oversee the entire NP Digital Italy business. The Business Director will be accountable for the performance of the Italian office, driving the overall business strategy, P&L ownership, operational excellence, client satisfaction and team leadership. This is a senior role designed for a leader who can manage the local operation autonomously while contributing to the international growth of the group.

The ideal candidate has a solid background in performance marketing, has already managed P&L responsibilities and has proven experience leading and growing multidisciplinary teams independently. Preferably either agency or publisher side experience.

Across the company’s global offices, business is approached in a range of different ways and in this role, you will have the freedom to build your craft according to your vision. This will involve leading the overall growth of the business in Italy, driving operational execution, strategic leadership and ensuring overall client satisfaction.

We are a local scale-up with a massive backbone. This means it’s a must that you get excited from the first phase we are in. The role comes with the freedom for you to lead related fields of expertise, such as marketing, profitability, contracts and process automation.

Candidates must reside and be eligible to work in Italy and be fully bilingual in Italian and English.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the EMEA leadership, this person will be responsible for the overall performance of NP Digital Italy.

  • Oversee NP Digital Italy business: drive the agency’s overall strategy and operational execution, ensuring alignment with NP Digital’s global vision and quality standards.
  • Own the P&L: be fully accountable for the company’s P&L, identifying key areas to invest in and other areas that can be simplified or scaled to meet short- and long-term profitability and revenue goals.
  • Lead and grow the team autonomously: manage, mentor and inspire a multidisciplinary team, setting clear priorities, objectives and KPIs. Build organizational structure and processes that enable scale.
  • Drive performance marketing excellence:leverage deep expertise in paid and organic search, social, programmatic, performance display, feed management and CRO to deliver outstanding results for clients.
  • Drive revenue growth: own the agency’s revenue goals and proactively seek new business opportunities.Develop and maintain a robust pipeline, using effective commercial tactics to generate leads and close deals.
  • Ensure operational excellence and profitability: oversee delivery, utilization, margins and contracts to safeguard profitability across the client portfolio.
  • Ensure excellent customer satisfaction and retention by providing exceptional service, identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities and exceeding client expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders: work closely with the global and EMEA leadership to align local efforts with the agency’s overall goals. Provide valuable information and recommendations based on market trends, competitive analysis and customer feedback.
  • Stay informed of industry trends: keep abreast of the latest developments in the digital and performance marketing industry, including emerging technologies, consumer behavior and market trends. Leverage this knowledge to identify innovative solutions and maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Monitor and analyze performance: track business and commercial KPIs to assess individual and team performance. Provide regular reports and presentations to the management team, highlighting achievements, challenges and opportunities for improvement.
  • Deliver compelling presentations to (up)sell new channels and offerings to brands and evolve our story to forge deeper relationships with clients, or set up the team to deliver these.
  • Serve as an escalation point for customer service and commercial issues on complex challenges.
  • Drive innovation within the organization, for example by developing new offerings, reviewing existing outcomes and processes, and exploring new tools and platforms.
  • Be a self-starter with an entrepreneurial attitude, unafraid to challenge the status quo and able to operate autonomously from day one.

ABOUT YOU

  • Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in the digital / performance marketing industry, with a strong track record in consistently achieving business and financial goals.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or management role, with demonstrated ability to build and manage teams autonomously.
  • Proven experience in P&L management, including budgeting, forecasting, margin optimization and resource planning.
  • In-depth knowledge of performance marketing (paid search, paid social, programmatic, SEO, CRO, feed management, analytics).
  • Proficiency in CRM and business management tools (we work with Salesforce).
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategies that drive revenue growth and achieve business objectives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify market opportunities and design effective solutions.
  • Experience building long-term relationships with clients and achieving high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills, with a passion for coaching and developing people.
  • Fully bilingual in Italian and English.
