Lindsay Corporation is looking for a Business Development Specialist (BDS) – Oil & Gas (O&G) Sales to join the Olathe, KS commercial team. The BDS will be responsible for the select O&G portfolio, building and managing new customer relationships and increasing revenue by identifying new opportunities and managing the complete customer acquisition process. This position works closely with the rest of the commercial, planning and other functional teams by understanding customer needs and managing all cycles of the customer experience from pre-sale to post billing requirements delivering on the commercial targets.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for engaging with new and existing customers to identify revenue growth opportunities.
  • Accountable for all aspects of customer acquisition, building relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction with the delivered products.
  • Drive new opportunities with current customer base by discussing upgrades, new product features and cross selling with existing major accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of sales forecasts for existing customer accounts documenting relevant data on the status of accounts.
  • Work with Sales Team to develop campaign strategies for marketing messages or product updates.
  • Attend trade shows with Sales Team as part of the initial engagement with prospective customers and follow up on qualified leads. Be willing to travel to such events and directly engage customers to increase sales pipeline, support demo and training sessions as needed.
  • Produce a specified number and type of qualified leads and subsequent revenue potential.
  • Track all contacts and activity in our CRM database.
  • Responsible for all cycles of customer experience including credit and collection.
  • Manage relationships with current customer base via; phone, email, quotes and resolving issues.
  • Understand and clearly communicate customer needs and goals with internal stakeholders
  • Maintain highly interactive relationship with all internal commercial channels (marketing, support and product development)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of work experience in a sales role requiring interaction with various customers, preferably in industrial technology solutions segment or similar sales organizations.
  • Experience building and managing strong partnerships to achieve financial results
  • Excellent business acumen, major account selling and negotiation skills, and sound financial competence.
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office products and strong computer skills.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to make presentations to large groups of customers or channel partners
  • Excellent leadership, project management and organizational skills
