The Business Development Specialist – Inside Sales is responsible for driving new revenue by selling products and services to new and existing customers over the phone.

This role requires a strong, independent work ethic and consistent execution against clearly defined objectives with a sense of urgency. Success is measured through daily activity, pipeline health, contract completion, and in-year achieved net revenue (based on a percentage of the annual signed net revenue goal). This position reports to a Vice President, Small Business Sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain strong activity discipline, including a minimum of 25 outbound calls per day.
• Build and sustain a “healthy” pipeline of prospects and opportunities through self-sourced lead generation and structured follow-up.
• Execute outbound campaigns (email/call cadences and targeted call lists), including:
• Working assigned campaign leads within required SLAs
• Personalizing messaging by segment/vertical and buyer need
• Tracking campaign performance and outcomes (connect, meeting set, win/loss drivers)
• Providing feedback to sales leadership/marketing on lead quality and conversion opportunities
• Manage and convert inbound referrals (from partners and other channels), including:
• Rapid outreach and qualification (target lead-to-call response time < 1 hour)
• Clear handoffs, follow-through, and updates back to the referring source
• Ensuring referral details, disposition, and next steps are captured accurately in Salesforce
• Handle predictable concerns that arise during the sales process and successfully finalize agreement on terms.
• Maximize each prospect interaction by clearly communicating the value of becoming a Chase Payment Solutions merchant.
• Make recommendations and provide strategic advice aligned to the prospect’s business needs to drive conversion.
• Achieve monthly contract targets, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare contracts and collect all required supporting documents; ensure clean submissions that reduce rework and delays.
• Perform sales and non-sales administrative responsibilities with strong execution discipline.
• Track and report leads, pipeline status, and activity accurately and on time using Salesforce.
• Maintain familiarity with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies and merchant application requirements.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in business or sales management (or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree).
• 1–2 years of sales experience (inside sales, call center sales, or phone-based consultative selling preferred).
• Strong selling, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust quickly over the phone.
• Ability to manage time, prioritize daily outreach, and work multiple lead sources (campaigns, self-sourced, and referrals).
• Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) and comfort with activity tracking and reporting.
• Knowledge of JPMorganChase products and pricing practices (or ability to learn quickly).
