As we expand our Environmental Risk Services business, we're looking for a commercially minded Business Development Specialist to drive growth across Australia and New Zealand

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager – Octfolio, you'll drive growth across both the Octfolio platform and ALS Environmental Risk Services throughout Australia and New Zealand. Working with government bodies, utilities, councils, and asset owners, you'll identify opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and help clients transition to portfolio-based environmental risk management.

The day to day

In this role, you'll:

• Drive business growth and adoption of the Octfolio platform across the ALS Environmental Risk Services portfolio
• Identify and secure new opportunities with clients in government, utilities, consultants, and major asset owners
• Build trusted relationships with new and existing clients across Australia and New Zealand
• Develop proposals, tenders, capability statements, and commercial opportunities
• Position both ALS environmental services and the Octfolio platform to meet client needs
• Partner with operational and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging business opportunities
• Support marketing initiatives, client presentations, and industry events
• Maintain an active sales pipeline and report on business development performance
• Travel nationally as required to meet clients and support business growth

The essentials

We're looking for someone who brings:

• Demonstrated experience in business development, account management, or strategic sales
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
• Commercial acumen with a results-driven mindset
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Genuine interest in digital platforms and technology solutions
• Experience in environmental services, SaaS, government, or infrastructure is highly regarded
• Current Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel nationally
