This role of Business Development Solutions Consultant consists of a unique mix of data analytics, project planning, process improvement, strategic planning, and execution. You will independently analyze surgical performance, physician activity, referral patterns, market opportunity, facility utilization, and other relevant data to determine where the greatest opportunities for growth exist. From there, the role will develop and execute focused growth plans in partnership with hospital leadership, service lines, medical groups, Business Development, operations, and physicians.

This is a hybrid, Monday–Friday position, approximately 8AM – 5PM, no weekend or call rotation. Schedule will require flexibility based on physician, hospital, and leadership meetings. This is a highly collaborative role that will include 30% of your time in market at Banner facilities, physician practices, and other on-site location meetings as needed.

This position serves as an internal brand consultant, driving collaborate leadership and supporting the development and execution of key strategic growth business development projects. Responsibilities include overseeing program development, managing technical execution, and ensuring effective resource management to achieve business objectives, all while fostering a positive team environment with a unified, collaborative approach.

The position will facilitate cross-functional collaboration to align initiatives with business goals, provide expert guidance on program execution, and contribute to the strategic direction of projects. This role is crucial in ensuring that all aspects of program development are executed efficiently and effectively, delivering high-quality outcomes that support the organization's objectives. The incumbent will help streamline processes, optimize resource allocation, and enhance overall program performance, ensuring that business goals are consistently achieved.

This position influences program direction and manages stakeholders, both internally and externally. It develops and implements business development efforts, ensuring achievement of defined goals within the service focus geography. The position actively engages with service line and ambulatory executives, communicating market intelligence and implementing action plans to increase in-network retention and volume. It fosters positive relationships with stakeholders to identify new opportunities and supports Banner's expansion in the ambulatory and service line market space.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Serves as an internal brand strategist, ensuring brand clarity and alignment across projects and initiatives, and providing consultation to ensure brand strategy integrates with project implementation.

2. Oversees initiatives to attract new customers and enhance service volume, including targeting new markets and increasing engagement from employed and referring physicians.

3. Suggests innovative approaches for leveraging data to support business development, maintains and updates sales reports and dashboards, and provides ad-hoc reporting support.

4. Provides actionable support to business development and operational teams, manages sales team alignments, ensures data integrity, and fosters effective communication and collaboration to drive continuous improvement.

5. Develops and implements action plans with internal stakeholder executives to increase in-network retention and volume.

6. Reports monthly progress and identifies obstacles and recommendations to improve performance.

7. Develops and improves action plans to achieve business development goals within specified business units and markets.

8. Collaborates with regional marketing, operations, and ambulatory teams to increase volume through combined efforts.

9. Communicates alignment opportunities and market intelligence to internal executive stakeholders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must demonstrate a strong knowledge of business and/or healthcare administration as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration or related field.

Must demonstrate a strong knowledge and understanding of healthcare administration as normally obtained through seven or more years of experience within the dynamics of healthcare, business development and relationship building with healthcare providers, employer and consumer groups or relevant experience.

Position requires approximately 30% travel time.

Strong knowledge of provider practices and associated issues required. Advanced understanding of planning and business development concepts. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, necessary. Ability to work independently and in a team setting. Strong customer service, plan implementation, and follow-through skills required. Critical thinking and relationship-building skills essential.
