We are currently seeking a Senior Manager/Manager – Business Development to join our Genesis team based in Houston, US.

About the Job

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development professional to drive growth in the Services Business vertical of Genesis US. The candidate will act as the first point of contact for clients, ensuring seamless coordination with internal departments and management to deliver successful outcomes for Genesis US. The primary objective is to expand the Services in the Upstream market by identifying and securing new business opportunities, whilst developing business win strategies and commercial models to help improve success rate on proposals.

Services domain includes, but is not limited to:
- Technical advisory in Upstream (Onshore, Subsea, and Naval)
- Development Consultancy (FEL 0/1 , 2A/B) Feasibility and Conceptual Engineering
- Pre-FEED (Front-End Engineering Design)

  • Subsea FEED
  • Special Technical Services in Upstream Execution
  • Decommissioning services
  • Complement the support of the Technip Consulting Services Business Unit commercial team in Project Management Consulting (PMC) including Owners Engineers & Operations and Maintenance Consulting (OMC)
  • Explore and promote the full range of services offered by Genesis and Technip Energies to meet client needs.

    Key Responsibilities:
    1. Sector Focus:
    - Primarily focus on Upstream and SURF markets, secondary on CCUS market
    - Collaborate with Genesis & Technip Energies offices globally to grow the upstream market for US

- Expand markets into the Americas including Suriname / Guyana, TT, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Venezuela


2. Business Development & Sales:
- Drive business development, marketing, and sales of Genesis offerings in US, aligned with the company’s strategic objectives and financial KPIs.
- Identify business opportunities, assess customer needs and priorities, and formulate prospect list in Salesforce tool, business win stratgies, including capture plans and commercial guidance, to position the company for success.

3. Client Relationship Management:
- Develop and manage new and existing key client accounts to foster long-term relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries and provide tailored solutions to meet their requirements.

4. Proposal & Tender Management:
- Analyze tender inquiries and clearly define requirements for proposal teams.
- Provide in-house support for proposal preparation and assist in formulating sales strategies.

- Provide sponsorship/guidance on tenders for new Clients or for Clients which do not have a designated Delivery Manager

- Accountable for ensuring local selling & tendering budgets are achieved or improved

5. Compliance & Negotiation:
- Ensure full compliance with Genesis’ Sales Process and Global Practices.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts on behalf of the company, ensuring favorable terms and conditions and profitable margin targets

6. Market Intelligence:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends and client needs, and assist with market strategy for Upstream and SURF.

- Gather and analyze competitor information to identify opportunities and refine strategies. Lead SWOT exercises and competitor analysis.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Genesis and Technip Energies’ product and service portfolio and work closely with Technip Energies’ commercial teams to collaborate develop opportunities for the Genesis business. .

7. Collaboration & Coordination:
- Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, proposal, and management teams, to ensure alignment and successful project execution.

About You

- Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience: 15+ years of proven experience in the upstream industry with a strong focus on client development and achieving external order bookings.
- Service Expertise: Demonstrated success in selling the aforementioned services within the downstream or allied sectors.
- Market Awareness: In-depth understanding of the evolving market landscape, particularly the increasing significance of Energy Transition and Decarbonization initiatives.
