AssetGuard Products is seeking a Business Development Representative to expand revenue and market presence for advanced polyurea coatings and linings across industrial markets. This is a strategic growth role focused on developing industrial and infrastructure opportunities, with emphasis on the Midwest, Rust Belt, Northeast, and East Coast regions.

The ideal candidate is a self-driven business developer who can open new markets, build relationships with municipalities, engineering firms, industrial customers, and other key stakeholders, and leverage AssetGuard’s growing case study portfolio to position the company as a trusted partner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Research and Analysis: Identify trends, market conditions, competitor activity, and growth opportunities across assigned sectors to guide business development strategy.
  • Business Development: Prospect, qualify, and develop new customers across assigned markets, with a focus on high-value industrial and infrastructure projects that diversify revenue and support regional growth.
  • Sales Strategy and Execution: Create market-specific sales strategies, conduct client meetings and presentations, and communicate the value of AssetGuard’s polyurea coating and lining solutions using proven project outcomes and technical expertise.
  • Territory Development: Build market presence primarily across the Midwest, Rust Belt, Northeast, and East Coast, while remaining flexible to pursue opportunities nationwide based on customer demand and business needs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, technical, production, and project management teams to align product offerings with client needs, support successful project execution, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Reporting and Forecasting: Prepare sales performance reports, share market insights and client feedback, and forecast sales and revenue for assigned markets to support strategic planning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of sales or business development experience in related fields; experience with coatings, linings, protective materials, industrial products, or companies serving similar markets is preferred.
  • Knowledge of polyurea technology and relevant applications is preferred; candidates with strong industrial sales experience and the ability to learn technical solutions will also be considered.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to sell to both small businesses and enterprise-level clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities.
  • Experience selling to municipalities, engineering firms, contractors, manufacturers, or industrial end users is strongly preferred.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance near-term sales objectives and long-term growth strategies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Positions self to install equipment, including under desks.
  • Moves throughout the building to access files.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
  • Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
