ANDRITZ Metals USA

ANDRITZ Metals USA designs and builds equipment for the processing of carbon steel, stainless steel, and non-ferrous metal including pickling lines, coating lines, levelers, cut to length lines, slitting lines as well as continuous or batch furnaces for reheating slabs, blooms, billets, and structural shapes. We specialize in supplying knives for metal processing equipment including shear blades, slitting knives, and slitting spacers. We also provide mill and coil processing equipment rebuild and retrofit. Additionally, we provide service parts, roll and chock services and knife regrind services for rolling mills and strip processors and provide a wide range of mechanical and electrical components for both ANDRITZ and competitor equipment.

The Role

The Manager Business Development, Mill Service Solutions is responsible to work with Customer Service, Inside Sales and Field Sales in offering mill service solutions to the carbon and non-ferrous industry.

The role will plan, implement, and manage the technical service and marketing functions to the market in order to achieve the sales volume and margin objectives of the company for the designated products. The role will develop and communicate the value proposition for the product line and for individual customer transactions and provide product/market expertise to customers, the sales team, and other members of the company’s management team.

You will be required to visit, sell, and technically interact with customers. You will be supported or manage existing field sales and back-office functions for technical support, quote and order processing.

The role is responsible to support the company achieving its growth goals in the designated product group. The role collaborates with the Sales, Marketing and Operations managers on product management, price negotiations, tracking of inquiries to orders, and supervising after-sales service including product/service claim resolution.

Requirements

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Key Result Items

  • Achieve the annual product sales plan as defined by the budget
  • Maintain and grow existing top line sales with key accounts
  • Business Development of sales from new/lapsed and lost accounts; expand market share
  • Develop and maintain personal relationships with key decision makers. Actively participate in personal selling efforts at key accounts
  • Assess the performance and provide input for sales agent reviews with respect to goal attainment, effort, skills and conformance with company policies and procedures. Recommend actions to improve performance
  • Acquires sufficient product and application expertise to serve as the technical expert for assigned products and markets
  • Secure purchase orders. Achieve and exceed plan sales numbers for assigned product groups
  • Train the sales team and other members of the organization on best practices, troubleshooting, selling techniques, value proposition, setups, etc.
  • Generate new business opportunities by utilizing consultative selling techniques and skills to engage customers
  • Differentiate the ANDRITZ product portfolio by promoting its unique focus on advanced technologies, customer service, and application engineering.
  • Use segment-based market strategies to develop sales and marketing goals; financial and non-financial
  • Measure and report customer satisfaction
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery conditions, and execution of sales contracts
  • Work with other members of the Sales Team to create, develop, and maintain relationships with key accounts
  • Work with the Product Segment Manager to develop segment-based marketing strategies, product management & sales programs
  • Propose the sales forecast and the departmental expenditures required for achieving the annual budget
  • Provide management reports pertaining to ongoing quotations, order entry, and sales development for the assigned region
  • Follow market developments, research market trends and maintain knowledge of industry developments throughout the market geography from both a customer and technology basis

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
  • At least seven years’ experience in commercial positions in industrial industries.
  • Demonstrated success in manufacturing and sales management in similar organizations may be deemed equivalent to the formal education.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
