
Business Development Officer – Pathology Services
Fitzroy, Melbourne | Full-Time
We are seeking a driven and relationship-focused Business Development Officer to join St Vincent’s Pathology. In this role, you will act as the key liaison between our pathology services and a diverse client base, while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
You will work closely with hospitals, medical centres, specialists, and community providers to strengthen partnerships, grow service utilisation, and support the continued expansion of our pathology network.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients across hospitals, medical centres, and healthcare providers
Identify and develop new business opportunities to expand service reach
Act as the primary point of contact for client engagement and service support
Develop and implement marketing and growth strategies
Monitor client satisfaction and identify opportunities for service improvement
Support business administration and reporting activities
You are a proactive and commercially minded professional with a passion for healthcare and relationship management.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Proven experience inbusiness development, sales, or marketing,ideally within the healthcare or pathology sector
Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
Understanding of pathology services and laboratory processes (highly regarded)
Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities
Current National Criminal History Check (or willingness to obtain)

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.
We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.
We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
