About the Role

As the Business Development Manager for West and Central Regions, you will be the driving force behind Ford’s commercial growth as you secure strategic fleet partnerships across critical industries in WA, SA and the NT.

We are looking for a B2B expert who understands that fleet sales aren’t just about selling vehicles – it’s about building long-term relationships and delivering mission-critical mobility solutions. In this role, you will focus on identifying and winning large-scale fleet accounts, with a particular emphasis on establishing the Ford Ranger Super Duty as the premier choice in key sectors including mining, civil construction and primary producers.

Based in our Perth Regional Office, you will enjoy a high degree of autonomy as you enhance Ford’s regional presence and deliver a best-in-class experience for our commercial partners. There is naturally a requirement for regular interstat e travel to support these opportunities.

  • Strategic Portfolio Growth: Develop and execute a regional growth plan to identify and convert high-value fleet opportunities, focusing on industries where Ford’s commercial line-up provides a distinct operational advantage.
  • Consultative Solutioning Conduct detailed fleet needs analysis, including technical upfit specifications, parts and service requirements, and consideration of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) to provide comprehensive solutions for prospective clients.
  • End-to-End Opportunity Management Take full ownership of the sales life cycle – from identifying initial prospects, driving lead generation and building deep relationships with key decision-makers through to final contract execution and transition to ongoing account management.
  • Strategic Tendering: Manage complex, large-scale tender submissions from initial scoping to final award, moving beyond “price” to sell the value of Ford’s commercial range and services for large-scale fleet operations.
  • Regional Collaboration Partner with Regional teams and Dealer fleet departments across WA, SA and NT to ensure a seamless transition from ‘lead’ to ‘delivery’ and provide ongoing service support.
  • Performance Insight Maintain a rigorous, data-driven approach to the sales funnel using Salesforce, providing accurate forecasting and market intelligence back to Ford’s National Head Office.
  • A ‘Hunter’ Mindset: You have5+ years of experience in B2B field sales experience, specifically within capital equipment, commercial vehicles, accessories or modifications, or fleet management services. You thrive on opening doors, building relationships with key decision-makers and closing complex deals.
  • Regional Expertise: Experience managing the WA/SA/NT markets is highly regarded. You understand the logistical and operational challenges of fleets operating in remote environments.
  • Resilient & High-Energy Mindset: You possess an infectious "can-do" attitude and the grit required to manage a large geographical territory. You are a self-starter who maintains high momentum and optimism, even when navigating complex sales cycles.
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong knowledge of and passion for commercial vehicles and fleet services, and how these impact a business’ bottom line.
  • Communication Exceptional negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to translate Ford’s commercial vehicle solutions into tangible business benefits.
  • Autonomy A motivated self-starter who thrives in a field-based environment and can maintain high activity levels while travelling or based in the Perth regional office.
