Business Development Manager - Bunnings Commercial | Visitor Economy, Hospitality & Community Sport

We’re seeking a high-performing Business Development Manager to join the Bunnings Commercial team, leading growth across Queensland’s Visitor Economy, Hospitality, and Community Sport sectors.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you’ll take full ownership of your territory—winning new business, growing key accounts, and building strong, strategic relationships across a diverse portfolio.

About the Role

You will identify, target, and secure new commercial opportunities across key segments including hotels, resorts, holiday parks, licensed venues, and local sporting organisations.

A core focus of the role is developing and strengthening relationships with industry networks, stakeholder groups, and key decision-makers to unlock multi-site and large-scale opportunities. You’ll also work closely with councils, procurement teams, and community infrastructure stakeholders, positioning Bunnings as a preferred partner for maintenance programs and capital works projects.

With a strong focus on pipeline development and conversion, you’ll execute targeted business development strategies, re-engage dormant accounts, and leverage local store networks to maximise on-the-ground presence and results.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Drive new business acquisition across hospitality, tourism, and community sectors
  • Manage and grow an existing portfolio of commercial customers
  • Build and leverage relationships with key stakeholders and industry networks
  • Develop and execute territory-based sales plans to grow pipeline and revenue
  • Identify and activate multi-site and large-scale opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and local stores to deliver tailored solutions
  • Re-engage inactive customers and uncover untapped opportunities
  • Analyse market activity and respond to competitor initiatives

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven success in business development, sales, or account management
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills across multiple stakeholder levels
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to identify and convert opportunities
  • Experience in or exposure to hospitality, tourism, facilities, or community sectors (advantageous)
  • A proactive, results-driven mindset with the ability to work autonomously
  • Experience with CRM systems and solid Microsoft Office capability
  • A genuine commitment to safety and customer experience
