Your Role with Us

As a Business Development Manager, you play a key role in growing AIA’s presence in the market while helping financial advisers deliver great outcomes for their clients. Working within the Distribution team, you build trusted adviser partnerships, identify growth opportunities, and bring business plans to life through strategic sales activity and exceptional service. You collaborate closely with internal teams to enhance adviser experiences, share market insights, and support continuous improvement across products and processes. This is an opportunity to combine relationship management, commercial thinking, and industry expertise to drive meaningful business growth while representing AIA’s purpose and values.

Your Impact

  • Grow profitable sales by developing and executing strategic business plans, campaigns, and adviser engagement activities.
  • Strengthen relationships with financial advisers, providing trusted support that helps them achieve their business goals.
  • Identify new business opportunities, expand adviser networks, and increase adoption of AIA products and solutions.
  • Represent AIA in the market, sharing insights and building awareness that enhances the organisation’s reputation and presence.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues, improve service delivery, and create positive experiences for advisers.
  • Monitor performance, maintain accurate Salesforce records, and apply market insights to support strong commercial outcomes.

Your Capabilities

  • You bring proven success in sales, relationship management, or business development, ideally within insurance, financial services, or a related industry.
  • You have the ability to build trusted partnerships, influence stakeholders, and create mutually beneficial business outcomes.
  • You bring strong commercial awareness and use data, market insights, and performance measures to guide decision-making and identify growth opportunities.
  • You have excellent communication skills and adapt your approach to connect effectively with a diverse range of advisers and stakeholders.
  • You bring resilience, accountability, and a results-focused mindset, while maintaining a strong commitment to quality service and compliance.
  • You may also have industry qualifications or knowledge of life insurance, financial advice, or NZ Certificate in Financial Services Level 5.
