About the Opportunity

Flight Centre Travel Academy (FCTA) is Flight Centre Travel Group's (FCTG) external education business - offering university level courses with jobs and careers in the Travel and Tourism industry.

As Business Development Manager, you are responsible for growing enrolments through connecting and building relationships with schools, via engagement of teacher, student, parent, VET coordinators and other centres of influence.

The core measure of success is student enrolments. Other key KPI's include “Info Night” attendance, school visits, teacher PD sessions and student events.

You need to create an ecosystem of school engagement through presentations, industry excursions, and teacher professional development, building a feeder pipeline into the current Diploma, and future pathways.

What you will do:

Teacher and Student Engagement

  • Identify and secure partnerships with secondary schools, focusing on Careers Advisors and VET Coordinators
  • Manage a high-volume calendar of school visits and qualified appointments to maintain a consistent brand presence
  • Deliver compelling presentations to Year 10–12 students to inspire interest in the Diploma program
  • Lead the presence at Career Expos and regional education fairs to capture prospective student interest
  • Facilitate immersive excursions and industry workshops that provide students with a "real-world" look at their future careers
  • Market and sign-up teachers for Professional Development (PD) sessions to ensure educators are equipped to advocate for our programs

Industry Engagement

  • Work with industry partners to increase influence and scale of network in order to grow FCTA Schools Partnership Program

Business Administration + Event Preparation

  • Work in FCTA on in-house and online events including school excursions, info nights, summits, PD's, industry sessions, etc

Business Focus

  • Awareness of budgets and KBD's
  • Understanding and belief in the business plan
  • Relationship-building with all internal FCTG staff to promote FCTA brand

What you will need:

  • Minimum of 2 years proven success in sales, working towards targets and KPIs
  • Presentation experience / school engagement experience desired
  • Understanding of VET and/or Higher Education sector
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Diploma of Travel and Tourism and/or industry experience will be well regarded
