About the role:

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in expanding our market presence, enhancing client relationships, and developing our sales professionals. Your strategic approach will focus on creating opportunities that boost sales volumes, profitability, and strengthen our competitive position in the SEE region.
In collaboration with the SEE FM Sales Director and Country Sales Managers, you will design and implement strategies to secure new clients, ensuring that Barry Callebaut continues to thrive in this dynamic market.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a business strategy that prioritizes growth, client satisfaction, and market expansion.
  • Conduct high-level industry research to design effective sales and marketing solutions.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
  • Actively promote Barry Callebaut’s products and services to prospective clients.
  • Leverage technical expertise to improve sales volumes and profitability levels.
  • Monitor sales progress to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Train and mentor sales professionals to elevate their skills and drive results.
  • Participate in collaborative business meetings to update internal stakeholders on project developments.
  • Track key business-related projects and report progress.
  • Respond to client inquiries and provide solutions for complex sales and product-related issues.

About you:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Food Science/Technology, Business Administration, or Sales & Marketing.
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) is mandatory.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in Sales, Marketing, R&D, or Operations, preferably in a multinational environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the chocolate industry is a must.
  • Proven skills in presenting, negotiating, and discussing commercial and technical matters.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new sales and marketing approaches.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • High level of emotional intelligence (EQ) and impactful presentation abilities.
  • Financial acumen and independent work style.
  • Self-motivated with a professional and team-oriented mindset.
