Salary R20 000-R25 000 (depending on experience) + Commission and other benefits mentioned previously

Our client, in the Avocado Production and Sales Industry, is looking for a seasoned Business Development Manager (Hospitality) with sales experience to join their team based in Stellenbosch as soon as possible.

Overall Job View:

The company’s BDM team is the most vital unit in their organisation. The position of the company Business Development Manager consists of selling avocados to restaurants and foodie outlets. Technical and/or scientific knowledge is sometimes required in the food and beverage industry.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Our Business Development Managers (BDM’s) call on current hospitality customers (restaurants) as well as cold call and open new restaurants in their respective areas, with a strong focus on developing new business by opening new accounts.
  • BDM’s assist with kitchen staff training, technical advice on Avocado storage and usage. They deal with orders, stock management, complaints, route planning and development to maximize route efficiency.
  • Attend Training Meetings on: Technical fruit issues: Sales: Systems
  • Management of your Tele-Sales and Delivery team (2-6 people)
  • Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information such as selling strategies and marketing information.
  • Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, and attending trade shows and conferences.
  • Maintain customer records, using a bespoke CRM-Skynamo

Working conditions

  • Full-time position, Monday through Friday, plus promotions, trade shows and conferences that may fall on a weekend or outside normal working hours.
  • Working hours (+- 45 hours/week)
  • Available after hours and weekends to assist clients should a problem arise.

Requirements

Qualifications and requirements

  • A solid track record within sales into the hospitality or related industries.
  • MINIMUM 5 years sales experience in a similar position.
  • Solid grasp of Mathematics to think quick in order to best serve our customers.
  • Ability to influence others to change their minds and behavior and be an outstanding listener

Benefits

Basic salary, commission (average commission is double basic salary), company car/car allowance of R5k, cell phone allowance R800 + tablet.
