Overview

This position supports the business development and marketing activities of the firm’s Energy & Infrastructure sectors, with a particular focus on digital infrastructure. The Marketing & BD Manager will provide marketing support (including but not limited to events and seminars, award and directory submissions, database maintenance, market research, etc.) to the practice, reporting to the Associate Director BD for Energy & Infrastructure and with oversight from the BD Manager for Project Finance.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned practice groups, providing guidance and support on business development and marketing needs.
• Partner with practice group leaders and partners to develop and execute business development and marketing initiatives.
• Identify prospective clients and new business opportunities; support client targeting by tracking outreach, pursuits, and follow-up activities.
• Collaborate with partners and BD colleagues to identify and support cross-selling opportunities across practices and offices.
• Draft and tailor pitches, proposals, RFP responses, and presentations, managing timelines, coordination, and delivery.
• Maintain and update practice materials, experience lists, matter descriptions, client-facing collateral, and other BD content.
• Prepare award, directory, and league table submissions in collaboration with partners and the Communications team.
• Work with the Communications team on press releases, media placements, thought leadership opportunities, and related initiatives.
• Evaluate and coordinate sponsorships, memberships, speaking engagements, and conference participation to enhance practice visibility.
• Support the planning and execution of practice events, including webinars, client programs, and receptions, and track outcomes.
• Assist with onboarding and business development support for lateral partners.
• Collaborate with colleagues across BD, Communications, Recruiting, and other business services functions to provide coordinated support.
• Supervise a Business Development Coordinator, as needed.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Five to seven years of relevant business development or marketing experience in professional services; law firm experience preferred.
• Energy and infrastructure sector experience preferred; familiarity with the sector’s clients, market trends, and commercial drivers will be beneficial in supporting the practice.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft and edit persuasive, polished client-facing content.
• Professional presence, poise, and confidence when working with partners and senior professionals, with the ability to offer thoughtful recommendations and move projects forward.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams and offices.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
• A proactive approach, sound judgment, and the ability to anticipate needs and take initiative.
