As the Business Development Manager – Payments, you will be responsible for driving the development of Global Blue’s Payments business in the Greater China region. Reporting to the Head of Commercial – Payments – North Asia, you will take a hands‑on approach, leading deals from initial sales engagement to go‑live while building strong relationships across the payment ecosystem. You will hunt for new customers, leveraging both cold outreach and existing leads, and will play a key role in expanding our strategic footprint in the region.
Your responsibilities include:
Creating and executing the overall sales and business development plan for Global Blue in the Greater China region.
Developing and managing strategic partnerships with stakeholders across the payment ecosystem (acquirers, PSPs, POS/PMS providers, etc.).
Hands‑on management of the complete end‑to‑end sales cycle, including lead generation, live account management, and working closely with C‑suite stakeholders to close deals.
Developing sales strategies using deep market expertise to maximize go‑to‑market resources and identify relevant opportunities.
Ensuring excellent communication and internal coordination for the roll‑out of new services, factoring in market specifics such as regulations and competition.
Managing new accounts to maximize revenue through cross‑selling and up‑selling opportunities, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
Providing timely reporting to the Sales Ops team on performance, sales activities, account management, and industry trends.
Initiating and maintaining strong links between customers and back‑office functions to ease communication and resolve issues efficiently.
Effectively communicating customer needs to support teams to ensure seamless service delivery.

A strong academic background in Business, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
10+ years of B2B business development experience across multi‑region markets within the payments industry.
An established network of PSPs, Acquirers, Banks, Tier‑1 Merchants, and Marketplaces.
Extensive experience negotiating with C‑level executives.
Deep understanding of the merchant acquiring ecosystem and payment value chain.
Experience operating in global, complex, and geographically diverse organizations.
